PRESS: Island Air to Double Hawaii Interisland Turboprop Fleet

Pacific Business News - 25-sept.-2012 17:53:54
Island Air   launched a new look and logo Thursday as part of the Hawaii airline’s new business plan, which includes replacing and doubling the number of turboprop aircraft in its interisland fleet from four to eight by the end of next year. Honolulu-based Island Air next month will acquire two ATR72 turboprop aircraft seating 64 passengers each, which will replace two aging Dash 8 aircraft, the company said. The company plans to acquire five 42-passenger ATR42 turboprop aircraft next year, which would replace Island Air’s two other current aircraft and would like to add another ATR72 to bring the fleet to eight by the end of 2013, CEO   Lesley Kaneshiro  said. Island Air will also likely add new routes once it acquires the additional aircraft, she said. “We will connect more destinations within the state of Hawaii as we grow our aircraft fleet,” she said. Island Air may also consider reinstating routes, such as the Maui-Hilo route, she said. “I think we’re looking at the demand in the marketplace and we’ll add a new route when we feel that the demand in the market can support the route,” she said. Island Air currently flies from its Honolulu hub to Hoolehua Airport on Molokai, Lanai City on Lanai, Kahului and Kapalua aiports on Maui, Kona International Airport on the Big Island and Lihue Airport on Kauai. The airline also operates flights between Lihue and Kahului; Hoolehua and Lanai City, Kapalua and Kahului; and Kahului and Kona. On Tuesday, Hawaiian Airlines, the largest interisland airline in the state,   said it is purchasing two turboprop aircraft   and plans to create a subsidiary to operate service to Hawaii’s smaller airports, including Lanai, Molokai and Kapalua. Officials with Hawaiian, a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: HA), offered no timetable for the new subsidiary. Click here   for more information on Island Air’s rebranding

Camille Wiart - 28-nov.-2011 17:46:30
In what appears to be a rapidly developing trend, Chinese visitors to the United States are being noticed more for the flash of their newly-bought designer bags than that of their Nikons. Tiffany & Co. ( NYSE :TIF), Coach, Inc. ( NYSE :COH) and Ralph Lauren (NYSE:RL) are just a few the companies in the luxury retail sector that have recently noted how higher revenue at their North American operations has largely been boosted by Chinese shoppers on vacation.   Read the full article on InternationalBusinessTimes. com

UBIFRANCE V.I.E Program: TREETOP QUEST opens its first adventure park in the U.S. thanks to a V.I.E!

V.I.E Program Advisor - 02-nov.-2011 16:56:23
Interview with Antoine Buliard V.I.E - U.S. Business Development Treetop Quest (Altiplano Group) Treetop Quest has opened its first adventure park in Georgia in September 2011. Antoine Buliard was recruited as a V.I.E candidate to participate in the development of the project. He explains to us how he managed to open the new park in less than one year. 1. Tell us about yourself and your background As an outdoor sport enthusiast, I grew up passionate about rock climbing, mountain biking, and skiing. Naturally I pursued a career in sports and athletics, earning my BA in Sports Management in Lyon. After interning with Altiplano Group in France, I was hired as the Technical Manager. Serving as Park Manager for two years, I worked on constructing and developing several treetop adventure courses across France. I moved to Atlanta a year ago to help create the Treetop Quest subsidiary and implement this activity in the U.S. For me, it has been a real professional challenge and a pleasure to discover a new culture. 2. Present Altiplano and Treetop Quest Inc.’s field of activity Altiplano: one Company, three expertises Altiplano is a French based holding company specializing in conceptualizing and developing tourism and recreational facilities. Divided into three subsidiaries (travel tours, adventure courses, and urban recreation), Altiplano directly manages the engineering and development of its facilities. Altiplano seeks to bring innovative outdoor tourism and recreational experiences to new corners of the world. Altiplano operates 5 adventure parks across France. About Treetop Quest Inc. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, Treetop Quest Inc. is the subsidiary of Altiplano. As one of the most unique family-friendly adventure courses in Georgia, Treetop Quest integrates educational quizzes, instructional tour guides, and environmental stewardship into a thrilling canopy tour reaching heights up to 55 feet, and zip lines stretching more than 200 feet. The series of platforms, zip lines, monkey bridges, and Tarzan swings are constructed from untreated wood, without drilling or puncturing any tree trunks. Treetop Quest provides innovative, engaging recreation for all ages, while promoting ecological responsibility and awareness. 3. Describe your V.I.E mission at Treetop Quest When I arrived in the United States in October 2010, my company was not yet established in the country. The U.S. was a ‘virgin island’ for Altiplano as we had very limited knowledge of the U.S. market. The first step was to conduct a market study by analyzing competitors, customer needs, etc. to assess implementation possibilities. Then, we analyzed U.S. standards and legislation regarding our sector of activity. We finally decided to implement an adventure park in Georgia. As a result, we had to manage the administrative tasks to create the subsidiary, and of course find a partner and land to build the activity. From day one, I received the support of ERAI (Entreprise Rhône-Alpes International) that provided me with its local expertise and know how. 4. Now that the park has opened in Georgia, what are your future plans? Now, my goal is to support the park manager for the beginning of operations. I will also continue developing Treetop quest Inc. in the USA by prospecting and finding other places to implement future adventure parks.   For more information about Treetop Quest, Altiplano Group or ERAI: For further information on the V.I.E Program, please contact us:

Jewels of France, a sparkling success in California!

Camille Wiart - 31-oct.-2011 21:31:58
The Jewels of France event sparkled over California this October with the attendance by some of Hollywood’s notable stars. This 5th annual event took place in San Francisco and Beverly Hills, which was hosted by Shreve & Co. and the General Consul of France respectively. Among the stars on the guest list were Desperate Housewive’s Teri Hatcher , Moneyball’s Stephen Bishop , James Bond’s very own Georges Lazenby , and former Miss France Mareva Georges.   The joint collaboration by Mark Kearney Group , Jewels by Nasrin Imani, and Hikes&Bikes Eco-tourism LA to put together this event created countless unforgettable moments. The models showcased spectacular collections from seven outstanding French jewelers that were invited to the event, ranging from breathtaking gowns to mesmerizing jewelry. And not only this event featured French fashion, but what one could argue that’s quintessential to the French : wine and chocolate. Champagne and wine from Nicolas Feuillate, L’Aventure, and Château Saint Jean added elegance to the celebration, as well as the presentation of chocolate creations from Madame Chocolat by Hasty Torres.   The reception was shortly followed by a 3-day trunk show at Jewels by Nasrin Imani showroom, where French Jewelers gathered to share their stories about their savoir-faire and jewels. Ten percent of the proceeds from this 3-day trunk show went to the Juvenile program of the Athritis Foundation.   The event concluded with another elegant soirée at the luxurious boutique Perrin Paris , where another ten percent of the proceeds went to the Dream Center.   To find out more, please click here  or consult our press review .
