 French International Postgraduate Internship Program

The V.I.E Program aims to reinforce the business of the subsidiaries/partners of French companies while offering dynamic graduates and young professionals an opportunity to benefit from a formative experience in the U.S.

The program enables eligible companies to recruit young French or European candidates between 18 and 28 years old for a flexible assignment², in a variety of sectors.

The V.I.E Program is a widely used HR solution for U.S. companies with French ties. In fact, the United States is the #1 host country of V.I.E candidates worldwide with more than 1130 V.I.Es on assignment in in approximately 400 companies.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Long term missions up to 18 months & wide range of assignments

The missions are diverse and determined by the companies’ needs: market research, technical support to local teams, administrative and sales assistance, etc. (see examples of V.I.E assignments).

Highly skilled and motivated bilingual candidates

70,000+ resumes are available in the Business France database. 90% of the candidates have 5+ years of higher education. 50%+ are graduates from an engineering or business school. The Financial Times ranked in 2011 French Business Schools as the best in Europe.

Flexible & simplified management

There is no contractual link between the company and the candidate. Business France handles the administrative aspects of the program from France, so companies can focus on their operational activities. Our partners, the French American Chamber of Commerce (www.faccnyc.org) and Parenthese (www.parenthese-paris.com) support companies in the J-1 visa procedure.

Strong support in the recruitment process

Companies are able to recruit candidates through the Business France resume database. Upon request, a dedicated Business France team is also available to identify specific candidate profiles through talent sourcing and matching.

Attractive & affordable cost structure

The French company bares the cost of the V.I.E assignment and therefore benefits from tax exemption in France. National and regional financial support are available in France for small and medium size companies, and larger companies are eligible for tax deductions.
