Business France’s offices in Germany, Brazil, China, Spain, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, the UK, Russia, Singapore and the ASEAN Economic Community are involved in organising the French Tech pavilion by arranging B2B meetings between exhibiting French companies and major foreign groups such as ZTE, Huawei, Bharti Airtel, Samsung, Telefónica and Vodafone Spain. 2016 marks the first time that Business France will have hosted a 120 m2 French Tech pavilion at 4 Years From Now (4YFN), running alongside the MWC on 22-24 February 2016 in Montjuic in the historic centre of Barcelona. The goal is to give French start-ups the opportunity to pitch to VCs and media hailing from more than a hundred countries. A personality from the digital sector will attend MWC to support the excellence of French innovation in the French Tech pavilion. Numerous innovations will be exhibited on the French Pavilion at MWC, including the following: Giroptic produces a camera that makes 360° photos and videos. The device comes with three fisheye lenses and is capable of capturing photos at 8 megapixels and full HD videos, which it then stitches together using an al gorithm to offer 360° photos and video. The 360cam can be fitted to a standard tripod, or used underwater or used in place of a bulb as a surveillance device (thanks to two additional fittings). The files can then be recovered via a USB connection or even live-streamed over WiFi. The company holds the French record for raising the most funds via Kickstarter, having raised over €1.4 million. Ledger is a French start-up that combines its co-founders’ solid expertise in security, chip cards, cryptography and embedded hardware. The launch of Ledger Nano in over 50 countries has established Ledger as a benchmark in the international bitcoin ecosystem. With offices and a showroom in “Silicon Sentier” in Paris, a production centre in Vierzon, France and a new subsidiary in San Francisco, the young company has just completed its first round of funding and is developing its product range with the aim of making Blockchain technology secure and easily accessible to all. Wassa is an innovative company specialising in the web and mobility. It designs and develops optimised digital solutions. Drawing on its technical expertise, the company is highly differentiated thanks to its integration of innovative functionality based on research in the field of computer vision. Furthermore, the company was selected by a judging panel to participate in Business France’s accelerator programme, Acceleratech China, which ran from 16-18 November 2015. RED Technologies is a telecommunications engineering company that develops and markets innovative solutions for managing the radio-electric spectrum based on radio environment mapping. Its patented solutions are aimed at government agencies, telecoms manufacturers and mobile telephony operators. Using its geolocation databases, the company offers technology that can help free up hundreds of megahertz of radio spectrum to cater for the global explosion in mobile internet traffic. Its solutions support the emergence of the Licenced Shared Access (LSA) regime, currently under development, dynamic and unlicenced access to white spaces and radio environment maps.
