Microsoft inaugurates 4 data centers in France

Roman Jirku - 19-mars-2018 12:41:04
In Europe, Microsoft is present in Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom... and now in France. IBM, Salesforce or Amazon Web Services have already opened data centers in France and Alibaba is expected to inaugurate one this year. Proof that the cloud market is large enough for big players to invest in it. Microsoft refers to a three-digit growth for several years. The cloud market weights around 10 billion euros in France, with growth of at least 20%. The change in the European legislative and regulatory framework (RGPD) is pushing all players to get closer to their customers. Added to these are issues of image and sovereignty. The location of data centers is a strategic element. The closer a client-company is to the data center where its data is stored, the lower the latency, allowing a more flexible or faster use of its applications and software.
