On June, the 14th, Dr. Marc Baréty, Ambassador of France to Malaysia, and officials from relevant Malaysian Agencies jointly opened a two days seminar dedicated to the presentation of the French know-how in the field of nuclear energy. Under the leadership of Mr. Mario Pain, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Energy, the French delegation was gathering nine leading institutions and companies, representing the whole nuclear branch (AFNI, ASN, Areva, CEA, CréditAgricole, EDF, I2EN and Total). The 12 members of this delegation, during the first day of seminar in plenary session, have delivered a set of extensive presentations showcasing French know-how in the various fields related to the Malaysian needs for establishing a nuclear energy program, with very deep focus on safety and security, education and training, and fuel management.   More than one hundred Malaysian experts and decision makers have attended this program, representing all agencies, ministries, public and private institutions involved in the new Malaysian civil nuclear project.   Two specific workshops where also organized on the second day, on June 15th. Specifically dedicated to education and financing, these workshops where targeting a limited audience in order to study these matters into details and envisage avenues of cooperation between Malaysia and France.   This high level program, which has generated a great number of questions and interactions between both parties, has been the occasion to further tighten the links between Malaysia and France in this field of expertise.   Under the supervision of AFNI (French Nuclear International Agencies), these two days or seminar where organized by the French Trade Commission Ubifrance, with the support of the Economic department and the Cooperation department of the Embassy of France in Malaysia.
