SAVE THE DATE –World Nuclear Exhibition moves to the summer (28-30 June 2016)

Kim Hwa KHOO - 09/05/16

Following on from its successful launch, the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) will be held for the second time from 28th to 30th June 2016 at Paris Le Bourget, hall 2B. Larger and more international, it will occupy 50% more space and is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors from all around the world.

Highly international and business oriented, this biennial event covers the entire civil nuclear industry and will enable all those involved to present their know-how, to discuss experiences and best practices, to forge partnerships, to find new suppliers and to build their exports.

“The civil nuclear industry in the global energy mix” is the theme of the second WNE. Extending the operating lives and maintaining existing power plants, new projects and future technologies, the fuel cycle, finance, skills and training… These are the key themes that will be addressed during the various events and high points that will take place during WNE 2016: the Awards Ceremony, panel discussions, exhibitor workshops followed by networking sessions, business meetings, side events for professionals and visits to industrial sites.

New in 2016…

Innovation and technologies at the heart of the event

The nuclear industry is a high tech industry in which research and innovation play major roles. Being held for the second time, WNE will shine the spotlight on the companies that ensure the industry’s excellence by organizing a wide ranging support programme:

§  Innovation Planet, dedicated to young, innovative companies from all over the world.

§  An innovation competition, culminating in an awards ceremony,

§  Meet the Experts, informal discussions with technical experts.

Focus on training requirements and employment

Modelled on the 2014 “Business opportunities”, sessions will be offered to countries with specific training needs. Given that the industry requires highly qualified employees, it is not always easy for countries that are new entrants to nuclear power to ensure that they have the right human resources. The Training Planet is designed to respond to these needs.
