Clearsy announces the SIL4 certification of its safety VITAL relay range

  Rail network safety   Clearsy announces the SIL4 certification of its safety VITAL relay range      The six safety vital relays developed by Clearsy France are the very first self-controlled safety vital relays guaranteeing opening of their NO contacts at a SIL4 level. Since 2016, these safety vital relays are SIL4-certified according to the EN 50129 and EN 50155 standards. Applications of these relays include Lyon (France) tram level crossing protection systems, Nice (France) tram onboard control system and Luxembourg-City tram SIL 4 signaling system.   The availability of these relays with NO contacts guarantee on opening and independently certified SIL 4 by Certifer is a first on the railway market.   We owe this new development to Clearsy an Aix-en-Provence (France)-based company, which employs more than one hundred people specialized in the production of SIL1 to SIL4 safety-critical systems and software.   RS4-range relays are available with different control voltages, from 24 to 110 Volts. Models have 2 to 4 work contacts (NO) guarantee on opening and 2 to 6 (NC) contacts non-guarantee.   The relays are available in two formats, a DIN rail box or a 3U card; these relays provide galvanic isolation between control and contacts "Our relays are designed for very harsh environments (-40° C to +70°C) with high vibrations and/or shocks and salt spray, in order to fit for all conditions" , explains Patrick Péronne, project manager.   The RS4 range constitutes significant technological progress for onboard and/or trackside critical controls applications. " A single RS4 safety vital relay provides in a very compact format galvanic isolation and reduces the number of contacts in safety applications by not requiring auxiliary contacts for copying. It also provides contacts able to make even with very low current an important aspect for all applications requiring an interface with   PLC “ , points out Patrick Péronne.           ClearSy presented its SIL4-certified safety relay range at the SIFER French railway trade show, last March.           Technical specifications of the RS4 range   THE SAFETY PRINCIPLES OF THE RS4 RELAY RANGE:   Use of two internal relays. Each NO contact in the RS4 relay corresponds to two internal relay contacts placed in series. If a NO contact in one of the internal relays jams, the NO contact of the RS4 relay remains open. Inhibition of the RS4 control if a contact in one of the two internal relays jams. Accordingly, it is impossible to have the two internal relays of the RS4 relay with contacts jammed at the same time. Principle of inhibition of the SIL4 control approved by Certifer (like everything else concerned with the relay) Internal relays with guided contact that meet standard EN 50205 (to guarantee rereading of contacts and non-overlap between work contacts and rest contacts) Relays hermetically-sealed to guarantee that contacts do not oxidize. Diversifying of components to remove common modes. Impossibility of short circuits (insulation distance, hermetically-sealed internal relay boxes…)   IN ADDITION TO DESIGN PRINCIPLES, RS4 RELAY MANUFACTURE IS CONSTRAINED BY THE FOLLOWING POINTS:   PCB and assembly rule IPC 610 class 3.   Sécurité des systèmes ferroviaires Clearsy annonce la certification SIL4 de sa gamme de relais de sécurité Les six relais de sécurité développés par la PME aixoise Clearsy sont les tout premiers relais autocontrôlés en sécurité intrinsèque à garantir l’ouverture de leurs contacts à un niveau SIL4. Depuis fin 2016, ils sont tous certifiés SIL4 selon les normes EN 50129 et EN 50155. Après les nouveaux passages à niveau de Lyon, ils équiperont bientôt la ligne 2 du tramway de Nice et le système de signalisation SIL4 de la future ligne de tramway de Luxembourg-Ville. La mise sur le marché de relais autocontrôlés garantissant l’ouverture de leurs contacts à un niveau SIL4 est une première. On la doit à Clearsy, PME aixoise d’une centaine de personnes, spécialisée dans la réalisation de systèmes et logiciels sécuritaires de niveau SIL0 à SIL4. Les relais de la gamme RS4 existent en différentes tensions de commande, de 24 à 110 volts. Ils disposent de 2 à 4 contacts travail (NO) et de 2 à 6 contacts repos (NF). Déclinés en deux formats, boitier pour rail DIN et carte 3U ; ils garantissent une isolation galvanique de 2000 volts entre la commande et les contacts. «  Nos relais ont été qualifiés pour les environnements les plus contraints (-40° à +70°), vibrations/choc et brouillard salin, ce qui permet de les utiliser en toutes conditions  », explique Patrick Péronne responsable du projet. Fin décembre, Certifer a certifié SIL4 selon les normes EN 50129 et EN 50155, l’ensemble de la gamme RS4. La gamme RS4 constitue une avancée technologique significative sur le plan de la sécurisation des commandes critiques en milieu ferroviaire au sol et en embarqué. «  Un seul relais RS4 permet de disposer de contacts de sécurité isolé galvaniquement, sans nécessité de relecture et dans un format compact », précise Patrick Péronne. Une combinaison d’avantages sans équivalent sur le marché des relais de sécurité ou systèmes comparables. « Les derniers-nés de la gamme ont profité du retour d’expérience du DIN 202 24 V développé à partir de 2012 qui équipe notamment les passages à niveaux du tramway de Lyon  », reprend Patrick Peronne. Luxtram pour le projet de Luxembourg-Ville a fait le même choix.         Les Pôles de Compétitivité Mer en Corée du sud       Du 4 au 8 juillet prochain à Busan et Séoul, la filière française des sciences et technologies de la mer présentera son savoir-faire et ses innovations aux acteurs industriels, académiques et de la recherche coréens du milieu marin (sécurité maritime, construction navale, technologies pour l’offshore, équipements scientifiques, biotechnologies marines…).   L es 2 pôles de compétitivité français PÔLES MER BRETAGNE ATLANTIQUE et MEDITERRANNEE unissent leurs forces pour mettre en place cette mission collective de partenariats technologiques en Corée. L’année 2016 est l’Année de la France en Corée, marquant le 130ème anniversaire des relations diplomatiques entre la France et la Corée du sud. A ce titre, plus de 150 évènements spéciaux sont prévus tout au long de l’année avec des acteurs français et coréens. Dans ce contexte, la mission bénéficie du soutien de l’Institut français de Paris et de Total Development Regional. L’objectif est de promouvoir la filière française des sciences et technologies de la mer, et de nouer des contacts permettant de lancer de nouveaux projets collaboratifs avec instituts de recherche et industriels locaux, et ainsi favoriser des partenariats franco-coréens. Faiveley Transport : platform screen doors for new metro in São Paulo Brazil: Faiveley Transport to supply platform screen doors for new metro line 6 in São Paulo Faiveley Transport has been awarded a multi-million contract by MHI Transportation Systems Brasil Limitada (MTSB), a brazilian subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, LTD.,  for the supply of Platform Screen Doors for the metro Line 6 of São Paulo, Brazil. With approximately 15.3 km and 15 new stations, the line 6, also known as the Laranja (orange) line will run between the Brasilândia and São Joaquim stations. This new line represents a huge step forward in the development of the metropolitan transportation system to alleviate major traffic congestion problems in the densely populated Brazilian city. Once commissioned, it is expected to carry more than 630,000 passengers per day. Faiveley Transport’s scope of supply includes the study, design, manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning of full-height platform screen doors for 30 platforms with a total of 3, 960 meters of façade to prevent passenger accidents and ensure safer train operation. Many of the Group’s sites will be involved: engineering will be managed by the Saint Pierre des Corps (France) site, Faiveley Transport’s Platform Screen Doors Centre of Competence, while manufacturing will take place in Shanghai (China), with the support of the Hong Kong (China) site. Project management, customer interface, installation, testing and commissioning will be handled by the São Paulo (Brazil) site. Deliveries are expected to be completed in 2020.
