                                                                                                          Les membranes céramiques de TAMI Industries marquent la différence dans les procédés de séparation membranaire par leur durabilité et leur grande efficacité.   Spécialement adaptées pour l’industrie alimentaire, pharmaceutique et biotechnologique.     Parmi les différents procédés industriels de séparation sur le marché actuellement, l’usage des membranes céramiques est devenu ces dernières années de plus en plus commun. Leurs caractéristiques de résistance mécanique élevée, leur durabilité et leur simplicité d’usage ont largement contribué à cette reconnaissance.   Bien que représentant seulement 10% du marché mondial, les membranes céramiques viennent sur de très nombreuses applications concurrencer les membranes organiques, avec comme principaux atouts, une plus grande durabilité, une stabilité chimique importante, une totale indépendance par rapport à la température et une meilleure résistance mécanique à la pression. Ainsi, les produits corrosifs, les stérilisations à la vapeur, les séparations à haute température ou les accidents hydrauliques des pompes de circulation sont facilement maitrisés avec les membranes céramiques.   Le département de R&D de TAMI Industries a déployé des efforts considérables dans le développement de nouvelles membranes inorganiques. Le fruit de ce long travail a abouti à la mise au point de membranes céramiques de haute technologie aux caractéristiques exclusives à canaux non-circulaires en forme de pétales. L’utilisation de canaux non-circulaires permet, par rapport aux canaux circulaires, d’obtenir une plus grande surface de filtration pour un même volume externe de la membrane avec pour conséquences une amélioration des performances de filtration ainsi qu’un accroissement des turbulences réduisant ainsi l’encrassement.   Ainsi, les membranes céramiques, conçues par TAMI Industries , se caractérisent par une meilleure compacité grâce à des formes originales (brevets sur les canaux non circulaires) ce qui accroit la perméabilité, un large choix de seuils de coupure : Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration et Ultrafiltration fine (brevets sur les couches), une résistance mécanique élevée (brevet sur les matériaux du support), une stabilité chimique   importante (gamme de pH de 0 à 14), une résistance   thermique élevée   (jusqu’à 300 °C ), un faible risque d’encrassement et un fonctionnement fiable et durable (une durée de vie moyenne de 3 à 4 fois plus longue que ses concurrents organiques).   De plus, les dimensions externes des membranes céramiques TAMI Industries sont compatibles avec tous les équipements et installations existants sur le marché et utilisant des membranes céramiques. Cette fonctionnalité permet une rénovation simple des infrastructures industrielles, seules les membranes céramiques sont remplacées (procédé communément appelé RETROFIT).   Tous ces investissements dans la R&D ont permis de proposer des membranes avec le meilleur rapport surface de filtration/volume externe de la membrane associé à une maîtrise de la mise en forme des matériaux de la membrane permettant ainsi des distributions très étroites des diamètres de pores pour plus d’homogénéité des performances.                                                                                                       TAMI Industries’ ceramic membranes are renowned in the field of membrane separation processes for their durability and extreme efficiency   Specially adapted for the food processing, pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. The use of ceramic membranes has increased in popularity over recent years in the various industrial separation processes currently available on the market. Their characteristics of high mechanical resistance, durability and ease of use have contributed significantly to this increased popularity. Although representing only 10% of the global market, in very many applications ceramic membranes are challenging organic membranes. The main advantages they offer being greater durability, significant chemical stability, complete temperature independence and improved mechanical resistance to pressure. Thus, corrosive products, steam sterilization, high-temperature separations or hydraulic accidents in circulation pumps are easy to control using ceramic membranes. TAMI Industries’ R&D department has gone to considerable lengths to develop new inorganic membranes. This hard work has resulted in the creation of high-tech ceramic membranes with the exclusive characteristics of non-circular petal-shaped channels. Compared to circular channels, non-circular channels provide a larger filtration surface for the same external volume of the membrane thus ensuring improved filtration performance as well as increased turbulence and reduced fouling. The original shapes of the ceramic membranes designed by TAMI Industries means they are more compact (patents on non-circular channels), which increases permeability and offers a wide choice of cut-off thresholds - Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration and Fine Ultrafiltration (patents on the layers), high mechanical resistance (patent on the base materials), significant chemical stability (pH range from 0 to 14), high heat resistance (up to 300 °C ), low risk of fouling, reliability and durability (an average useful life 3 to 4 times longer than their organic competitors). The external dimensions of TAMI Industries’ ceramic membranes are compatible with all existing equipment and facilities on the market that use ceramic membranes. This functionality means that renovating industrial infrastructures is simple, only the ceramic membranes need to be replaced (process known as RETROFIT).   As a result of this R&D investment it is now possible to offer membranes with the best filtration surface /external volume ratio of the membrane associated with control over the shaping of the membrane’s materials, thus allowing very narrow distributions of the pore diameters and a more uniform performance. In addition, investments in external growth have guaranteed the manufacture of the supports, which means that TAMI Industries has complete control of the ceramic membrane production process from start to finish. This investment has led to a significant improvement in performance and, therefore, increased energy savings, along with lower operating and infrastructure maintenance costs. There are two separate ranges of ceramic membranes available:-               - A range of tubular shaped products for industry (Inside CéRAM)              - A range of flat products for frontal and cross-flow filtration for laboratory tests (Inside KéRAM). South Korean Government to Invest $27.9 Million in Developing Original Neuroscience Technologies

South Korean Government to Invest $27.9 Million in Developing Original Neuroscience Technologies     South Korean Government is investing $27.9 million (32.6 billion KRW) in developing original neuroscience technologies, which is 35.5% increase from last year. By securing major original technologies such as prevention and treatment technology of brain illnesses, technology that overcomes disability, technology that strengthens brain functions and others, it is planning to create new markets in the future.   Ministry of Science, ICP and Future Planning (MSIP) made an announcement on the 27th that it is investing $5.47 million (6.4 billion KRW) in brain neurobiology field, $4.02 million (4.7 billion KRW) in brain recognition field, $14.3 million (16.7 billion KRW) in brain medicine field, and $4.10 million (4.8 billion KRW) in brain engineering field, which are four major technologies in brain research. It is going to invest $9.66 million (11.3 billion KRW) in supporting new tasks.     Based on major tasks such as 8 major health problems, solutions of society problems and others, MSIP is planning to regularly monitor technologies that can be commercialized and systematize management of performance by business group system.   Including development of original technologies in four major fields of brain research, MSIP is currently supporting research regarding solution of society problems and commercialization such as early diagnosis and prediction of Alzheimer Disease, investigation of internet and game addition by neuroscience, overcoming cognitive impairment regarding post-traumatic stress, development of diagnostic equipment of brain diseases ad development of 7T MRI-based image diagnosis technology and others.     MSIP is going to support removal and early diagnosis of brain infection, control of brain functions based on gliacyte, technology that overcomes impairment regarding blood vessel of a brain, metabolic control of a brain, development of technologies that overcome depression and insomnia, technology that manages Alzheimer Disease based on ICT and other technologies as new projects this year. It is also planning to strengthen research bases of artificial intelligence (AI) by developing and supporting new projects ($1.97 million (2.3 billion KRW)) of brain engineering field such as monitoring technology of brain functions and elemental technologies of BMI (Brain Machine Interface) and others.   Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology’s research on development of connection between stress and reproduction illness, KIST’s research on sea horse’s place cell’s irregular activity regarding chronic stress and reduction of learning and memory due to this activity, and POSTECH’s research on controlling fearful memories from reappearing and investigation of behavior control mechanism are major research done as neuroscience original technology development business last year.   Research on development of connection between stress and reproduction illness found out that hypothalamus CRF, which is major stress hormone of human, is responsible for major functions in a process where an analog of a fruit fly is mating with a female and choosing a sperm for fertilization and confirmed evolutionary connection between stress and pregnancy.     Research on reduction of learning and memory due to chronic stress had observed modification of sea horse’s dendritic process due to chronic stress and pattern of ignition of place cell’s irregularity.     MSIP is planning to receive new projects of 7 projects that are already finished with detailed planning as a first step by 19th of April. Total of $5.47 million (6.402 billion KRW) is going to be used in 2016 and there will be 13.3% increase from 2015’s budget. ▲Budget for brain recognition field in 2015 was $4.02 million (4.7 billion KRW) and will be the same in 2016. ▲Budget for brain medicine field in 2015 was $9.28 million (10.85 billion KRW). $9.28 million (10.85 billion KRW) is going to be used again in 2016 for continuous research and $5.01 million (5.856 billion KRW) is going to be used in 2016 for new research. Total of $14.3 million (16.706 billion KRW) is going to be used in 2016 and there will be 53.9% increase from 2015’s budget. ▲Budget for brain engineering field in 2015 was $2.45 million (2.87 billion KRW). $1.30 million (1.52 billion KRW) is going to be used again in 2016 for continuous research and $2.82 million (3.3 billion KRW) is going to be used in 2016 for new research. Total of $4.10 million (4.82 billion KRW) is going to be used in 2016 and there will be 67.9% increase from 2015’s budget. ▲$20.6 million (24.072 billion KRW) was used in total in 2015. $18.2 million (21.322 billion KRW) will be used for continuous research and $9.67 million (11.306 billion KRW) will be used for new research. Total of $27.9 million (32.628 billion KRW) will be used in 2016 and there will be 35.5% increase from 2015’s budget.
