Purva Marwaha - 30-oct.-2017 10:57:25
Business France, the Trade & Investment Commission of France in India, is organizing, with several stakeholders and partners, the second edition of the “French Tech Tour to India”, a multi-purpose and multi-format platform to run over Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad & Bangalore from the 13 th  to the 17 th  of November 2017.   The “French Tech Tour to India 2017” will consist in an immersive mission to India for 9 innovative “French Tech” startups and SMEs and 1 of France and the World biggest car makers . The program for these companies will include customize business meetings with Indian start-ups, investors, partners and clients as well as pitch sessions and curated networking cocktails across the 4 cities. The first edition of the event in 2016 pitch sessions and networking and networking event was a tremendous success and recorded a footfall of more than 150 participants in each city.   France is eager to develop strong partnerships with the Indian start-ups ecosystems.  Therefore, the “French Tech Tour to India 2017” will also include meetings with several incubators in the 4 cities, and more specifically  T-Hub in Hyderabad , Indian leading start-ups incubator, and one the biggest in the World. The “French Tech Tour to India 2017” will finally have a strong participation  at the Bangalore ITE.Biz 2017  (Bangalore, 16th to 18 th  of November 2017), with the objective of strengthening reciprocal awareness between the French and Indian Tech ecosystems, and of promoting France as a leading Innovation and Business Hub in Europe for Indian Tech Companies. In the years to come, Business France looks forward to take these initiatives to greater scale.  The French Tech initiative fits in the with the goals and objectives of the “Startup India” and “Digital India” initiatives  by the Government of India. We hope that this spirit of reciprocal learning and collaboration between India and France strengthens in the following years.     *     *     *     *     * For some years now, the French Tech ecosystem has enjoyed a steady and strong development, driven by a new generation of entrepreneurs, investors, engineers, designers and other talented people. Like India, France has emerged as a leading Startup Power, home to vibrant Tech Hubs and talents, and imbued with a strong entrepreneurial culture. With 100,000 Engineers trained yearly, 6,000+ Tech startups, 200+ Tech startup incubators / accelerators, 100+ VC funds active, more and more large companies and Mid-Caps involved into startup initiatives, not to mention our Innovation Clusters, France stands among the leading ecosystems globally when considering Tech-related Entrepreneurship and Innovation; as ascertained by the fact that France led -for the 6th consecutive year- the race in the “Deloitte Fast 500 2015 EMEA” ranking with 87 laureates. The “French Tech” is benefiting from both Software and Hardware-centric capabilities. Also, while France has been historically known for Telecommunications and Media technologies for instance, the country has nurtured a growing number of World market leaders emerging in domains such as Big Data & Analytics (with Success Stories such as Criteo, Scality, Talend or Teads…), IoT and Connected Devices (over 25% of all startups exhibiting at the CES 2016 were French), eCommerce and Sharing /On-demand Economy, or BioTech and MedTech (No. 2 in the World for BioTech and No. 1 for MedTech IPOs over 2011-2015). In addition to public supportive programs, private initiatives such as the StationF to open in early 2017 in Paris (consisting in the retrofit of the Halle Freyssinet, to make it the largest business incubator worldwide with over 1,000 startups spread over 33,000 sqm), shall contribute to sustain this dynamic. Also noteworthy is the fact that many MNCs (Cisco, Facebook, General Electric, Google, Huawei, Intel Corporation, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung…) have implemented R&D and Innovation centers in France and are increasing the scale of their operations in this domain.   The “French Tech Tour to India” finds its origin in the statement that with over 5,000 and 6,000 Tech startups respectively, and many large corporates involved in Open Innovation and Acceleration programs, India and France both belong to the Top 5 of the Tech startup ecosystems in the world. Yet, further initiatives need to be developed to exploit the true potential for synergies and value co-creation between the 2 Startup Powers. Hence, in addition This French Tech Tour to India 2017 is part of the larger  French Tech  initiative spearheaded by the French Government and associated public and private stakeholders to promote innovation and the growth of startup ecosystems in France. These initiatives look at bridging the French and India Tech ecosystems, creating reciprocal awareness between the two ecosystems and enabling participating French Tech startups and SMEs to find their future partners and clients and develop in the Indian market   About the “French Tech” initiative: Launched in 2013, the “French Tech” is an initiative spearheaded by the French Government in association with public and private stakeholders in order to nurture the densification, the growth and internationalization of Tech startup ecosystems in France, and to accrue the positioning of France as a leading European Innovation and Business Hub towards any Tech company. It consists in: -  a set of programs (grants to entrepreneurs, access of entrepreneurs to IT and research resources, fund of funds, acceleration fund, “French Tech Ticket”, etc.) designed to achieve these objectives; - networks of labeled ecosystems located throughout France; - a brand and logo, this pink rooster to which any “French Tech” entrepreneur associates itself. The "French Tech" eventually refers to all the stakeholders and individuals contributing to the Tech startup ecosystem in France or abroad. The initiative is sector-agnostic and relates not only to the Digital economy or ICTs, but also to BioTech, CleanTech, EdTech, FinTech, FoodTech, MedTech, etc. For further information, you can log on to the Website of the “French Tech” initiative:  http://bonjourlafrenchtech.com/   About Business France: Business France is the National Agency for the Internationalization of the French Economy, responsible for fostering the international expansion of French businesses as well as promoting and facilitating international investments in France. Orolia Fortifies Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing Solutions

Purva Marwaha - 04-juil.-2017 08:44:07
Orolia Fortifies Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing Solutions     Strategic Alliance includes product development, go-to-market activities of PNT solutions independent of GPS/GNSS satellite signals to Military, Defense, Government and Commercial customers worldwide   New Delhi, India – February 2017 – Orolia, the worldwide leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) solutions, announced that it has formed a strategic alliance, including an equity investment, with Satelles Inc. to develop, market and sell PNT solutions based on Satelles’ Satellite Time and Location (STL) signal technology. STL is a unique space-based PNT technology that provides location and timing data independent from traditional GPS and other GNSS satellite signals. By using STL, Orolia’s proven Spectracom and McMurdo branded solutions will be less susceptible to vulnerabilities – spoofing, interference and jamming – associated with GPS/GNSS.   Many highly sensitive military, defense, government and commercial applications and operations including maritime/aviation, fleet/asset tracking management, search and rescue and data center management require accurate and reliable PNT data. Today, these applications rely on signals from GPS/GNSS satellites SBAS GAGAN or Regional Satellite Navigation Systems such as the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite system (IRNSS). There are instances, however where GPS/GNSS/IRNSS signal strength and security are not sufficient and prone to signal disruption. For these cases, STL can be used as a secure signal of opportunity to complement GPS/GNSS making the application more accurate and secure and less prone to interference attack.   Furthermore "Orolia has provided India with positioning and timing technologies for critical applications for many years. In the field of Search & Rescue, Orolia is a long-term partner with India since we equip the ground stations with the international satellite search and rescue system called "cospas-sarsat", the first generation was commissioned in 1989. These stations are used to detect the emission of distress signals and to calculate the position of beacons triggered in the event of danger to human life. Our aeronautical distress beacons are used by major Indian airlines. We are also being tested with the ADA (Aeronautical Development Agency) for our military distress beacons used by fighter pilots. In the field of ultra-precise time, we equip Indian satellite navigation satellites (IRNSS) with atomic clocks and have been supplying high-performance time and frequency references to the Indian defense industry for many years. Example for telecommunication or radar applications "explains Rohit Braggs, VP Networks & Sources of Orolia. "The strategic partnership with Satelles, which allows us to expand our portfolio of highly robust positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies, is an opportunity for Indian government players (armed forces, internal security, defense industry) and (E.g. marine, aviation, banking, IT, etc.) to have GPS / IRNSS signal curing technology interfered with by jamming and thus an additional level of reliability in accessing critical PNT data, their applications need. "     “In today’s increasingly dynamic and mobile world, there is a growing need for precise and robust positioning, navigation and timing information especially in business-crucial, high-risk and life-saving operations,” said Dr. Jean-Yves Courtois, Orolia CEO. “By augmenting Orolia’s market-leading GPS/GNSS-based solutions with Satelles’ STL technology, we will have the industry’s first truly fail-safe, resilient PNT solution.   This breakthrough offering will be ideal for mission critical applications in which the smallest of discrepancies in PNT data accuracy, availability and stability can result in a network outage, a system crash or a loss of life.”   Based on the Iridium® satellite constellation, STL signals are up to 1000 times stronger than GPS/GNSS which helps to prevent jamming and allows easier signal reach into buildings and other hard-to-reach locations. STL’s additional cryptographic security also ensures the highest levels of performance, productivity and security.   “Satelles’ pioneering role in STL technology is a perfect fit with Orolia’s proven Resilient PNT strategy,” said Dr. Michael O’Connor, Satelles CEO. “We look forward to working together to introduce new products and solutions that will provide our customers with the utmost confidence that their positioning, navigation and timing data is accurate, secure and accessible.”   For information on Orolia, please visit www.orolia.com For information on Satelles, please visit www.satellesinc.com .   A press kit is also available at https://www.orolia.com/en/media-center/news/news-2016/1084-satelles-satellite-time-and-location-signal-technology.html   About Orolia   Orolia is the world leader in resilient positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) solutions that improve the reliability, performance and safety of customers’ critical, remote or high-risk operations. Through its leading Kannad, McMurdo, Sarbe, Spectracom and Spectratime brands, Orolia has more than 400 employees and sales presence in over 100 countries worldwide. Leading organizations including Airbus, NASA, Thales, and Raytheon rely on Orolia for fail-safe GNSS and PNT products and solutions for their mission critical needs. Founded in 2006, Orolia has a global presence with offices in China, France, Russia, Switzerland, the U.K., the U.S.A. and further plans to expand its global footprint in 2017.   About Satelles   Satelles has developed and deployed the world’s first real-time PNT service based on Low Earth Orbit satellites. Satellite Time and Location (STL) signals are highly secure, penetrate deep indoors, and are available anywhere on Earth. These features make the service perfect as an independent augmentation for GPS/GNSS and other location-based technologies. With offices in Redwood City, California, and Fairfax, Virginia, Satelles works in partnership with recognized industry leaders to deliver these secure time and location capabilities to government and commercial users worldwide.       About Business France   Business France is the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, responsible for fostering export growth by French businesses, as well as promoting and facilitating international investment in France. Annual Report on Foreign Investment in France records over 150 Indian companies in France and 11 new investments from India in 2016

Purva Marwaha - 27-mars-2017 11:15:02
Annual Report on Foreign Investment in France records over 150 Indian companies in France and 11 new investments from India in 2016             New Delhi, 27 th March, 2017 In the backdrop of the ongoing Creative France global campaign, Business France, the national agency for the international development of the French economy , recently published its “2016 Annual Report: Foreign Investment in France, the International Development of the French Economy”. The report reveals that there are over 150 Indian companies operating in France, where they employ more than 7,000 people. 11 new investments from India were recorded in 2016, creating or maintaining 171 jobs. According to this report, out of the Indian investments made in France in 2016: ·          36 % were in R&D and engineering activities; ·          27 % in decision-making centers; and ·          18 % in services to companies.   The Indian companies’ investments in France have been mainly in the IT, energy, recycling, aerospace and textile sectors. Some of the major Indian investment projects in France from the year 2016 include: - AEQUS (headquartered in Belgaum / Karnataka): After acquiring the SIRA Equipements plant in Besançon (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region) in 2015 and saving 28 jobs, this Indian aerospace components manufacturer and solution provider confirmed it was hiring a further five employees in 2016. Aequs Aerospace is one of India’s fastest-growing precision engineering companies, and continued to further its expansion in France in 2016 by acquiring the SIRA Group. - ROYAL ENFIELD (headquartered in Gurgaon / Haryana): One of the most prestigious brands in the world of premium motorbikes alongside Triumph and Harley Davidson, Royal Enfield has set up its Western headquarters in Paris. It has opened a concept store in Levallois-Perret and an office for prospecting the French and European market. - ETOSHA (headquartered in New Delhi): This company specializes in the manufacture of fragrances, aromas and essential oils for the food industry, personal care and homecare. The company established its European subsidiary and creative laboratory in October 2016 in France, in the city of Grasse, for preparing formulations with French ingredients for the Indian and Middle Eastern markets.   Two Indian firms were among the winners of French Tech Ticket, a program designed for entrepreneurs from all over the world who want to create their startups in France:   1. GUESSWORK , an Indian start-up that provides a mobile app to connect customers to small e-merchants. Thanks to its incubation in Startup42, le Kremlin-Bicêtre (in the Parisian region), Guesswork has adapted its application to the European market. 2. DYMOND CLEANTECH , an Indian start-up which has developed an electrochemical solution for purifying water using diamond electrodes. Dymond Cleantech was incubated in La Paillasse, in Paris’ 2 nd arrondissement, in January 2016, where it benefited from technological workshops and co-working spaces to help it to reach its goal of commercializing its water purification processes not only in Europe but also in India, China and Africa. “The increasing interest in France of foreign and Indian companies and start-ups, such as Guesswork and Dymond Cleantech in 2016, confirms France as an attractive hub for innovation and creativity as a part of India’s expansion strategy in Europe. Indeed, with 100 000 engineers trained yearly, over 6 000 tech startups and over 200 tech startup incubators, acceleration programs, France stands among the leading tech-related entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems worldwide” , said Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India . In 2016, a total of 1,117 investment decisions – up 16%, with an average of 21 per week, representing the best year in the last decade – created or maintained 30,108 jobs (versus 962 decisions and 33,682 jobs in 2015). The number of decisions to invest at new sites in France grew 20%, accounting for a majority (51%) of all investment projects and 38% of all jobs generated (11,520 jobs). Foreign companies invested primarily in production/manufacturing and logistics operations, which accounted for 31% of all foreign investments in France (352 decisions) and 50% of the jobs generated (15,134 jobs). Ambassador Alexandre Ziegler added: “ With a 16% increase in investments in 2016 - that means an average of 21 investment decisions per week - the figures speak for themselves: France is an increasingly attractive investment location for foreign companies” . Key factors behind this success are France’s numerous globally recognised fundamental strengths: its central location in Europe, excellent communication and transport infrastructure, industrial skills in a wide range of sectors, high productivity, a well-qualified workforce and innovation. Thus, France continues to attract investment to ‘strategic’ business activities, and has now been Europe’s leading destination for foreign investment in the industrial sector for more than a decade. Innovation is recognized by business decision makers to be a driving force behind France’s attractiveness as an investment location, as is the thriving “La French Tech” ecosystem. In 2016, the 155 investment decisions in R&D, engineering and design, including 72 in R&D alone, confirmed this trend. This report seeks to shed light on the way the French economy is becoming increasingly globalized, and the trade and investment synergies that are fueling business development throughout the country. France’s strategic location makes it a natural export hub for countries throughout Europe and Africa. In 2016, as in the previous year, 30% of French exports were made by foreign-owned subsidiaries in France. French nuclear delegation to attend 7th edition of India Nuclear Energy Exhibition

Thomas ILHE - 15-sept.-2015 08:48:52
The French pavilion at the India Nuclear Energy exhibition will host seventeen companies from the nuclear sector and two professional federations under the French pavilion organized by Business France at the INE 2015 exhibition. Besides attending the exhibition, they will meet key players like Larsen & Toubro, Areva and NPCIL.   The French nuclear sector is a cutting-edge industry with three major operators: Areva, EDF and Alstom. During the Indian Prime Ministers official visit to France in April 2015, considerable progress has been made on negotiations on the Jaitapur project. AREVA signed a Pre-engineering Agreement (PEA) with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with & Larsen & Toubro, to prepare for the EPR reactor licensibility in India and increase localization, within the frame of the “Make in India” policy. In addition to these major industrial operators, the French nuclear industry boasts a network of different types of suppliers offering special products and services. The French nuclear industry’s turnover is € 46 billion of which € 5.6 billion is the contribution from exports. It employs 220,000 people and France is the leader in Europe and has second position worldwide in terms of nuclear power generation (with 58 standardized reactors). The Indian government is increasingly introducing initiatives to accelerate the development of civil nuclear power, making the sector a key priority to meet the energy needs of the country with limited impact on the environment. Indias current annual output of nuclear generated power is 5.78 GW, which it aims to increase to 14.6 GW in 2020 and 63 GW in 2032. The country is therefore set to become the second biggest market for new reactors between 2015 and 2032. India also offers opportunities in terms of maintaining and extending the service life of its current capacity, most of which is Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR). There are ample opportunities for French companies interested to work in the Indian nuclear market by developing their contacts and preparing their offer for the upcoming tenders. Since 2010, the French pavilion has the biggest and most visible international presence at the India Nuclear Energy exhibition organized by UBM. The French pavilion is set up in partnership with two federations: AIFEN (stand G45 - Association des Industriels Français Exportateurs du Nucléaire) representing over 300 companies and major French associations (GIIN, Nucleopolis, PFCE, PFME, PNB). These companies (from VSEs/SMEs to large groups) represent all links in the nuclear industry chain from fuel production to dismantling, engineering, technology, components, generation and research. They are involved in power generation, creating research reactors, science, medical applications and water propulsion. G.I.I.N. (stand G45 - Groupe Intersyndical de l ’ Industrie Nucléaire) is an association of professional federations and organizations involved in the nuclear industry. As a coordinator of professional organizations, G.I.I.N. is a representative body defending interests against operators and authorities, while also providing access to information on the industry. G.I.I.N. also enables people to attend collective actions (exhibitions, conferences, etc.) and facilitates access to markets in France and abroad. Telmat Industrie launches its new automatic body measurement system: The SYMCAD III 3D Body Scanner

Thomas ILHE - 09-juil.-2015 12:25:15
The SYMCAD III 3D Body Scanner is a new hi-tech solution for automatically taking complete or partial measurements of the human body. SYMCAD III is an ideal solution for made-to-measure clothing businesses, for sizing clothes as well as having applications in the fitness and healthcare markets.     The SYMCAD III is unique in the market of scanners using depth sensors as it provides a realistic representation of the human body and makes it possible to visually detect static markers such as stickers and labels. Interactive tools take specific measurements in relation to different body shapes. SYMCAD III automatically analyzes body shape and body posture.     “ India preferred made to measure tailoring for ordering clothing for long. Online shopping and wave of brands invading markets made Bespoke tailoring exclusive to the rich club. Growing self-consciousness and discomfort with tape based measurement has begun fueling demand for body scanning. Established bespoke shops and upcoming chains are looking at solutions which can provide exclusive scanning experience while enjoying the most accurate measure without touch ”, elaborates Mr. Brijesh KUMAR, iAdept Executive Director. iAdept represents Telmat scanner related products across the country.   Telmat has developed two different 3D solutions depending on their use: SYMCAD III – C "Cabin version" and SYMCAD III – T "Transportable version".     SYMCAD III – C is particularly well suited to taking measurements in stores and can be fitted with an extension to allow customers to undress. This solution works particularly well in the context of supplying professional clothing or uniforms; between 40 to 50 people an hour can be measured.    SYMCAD III – T is extremely portable and can be deployed in less than one hour and weighs less than 80 kg.     It can be set up and operated by the client as the solution does not require any specialized knowledge or training. SYMCAD III makes it possible to offer customers made-to-measure, comfortable and elegant garments for the price of off-the-peg garments. User-friendly, self-operating and fun to use, SYMCAD vocally guides customers as soon as they enter the booth. The client is welcomed in a pleasant atmosphere. The measurements are taken in soft lighting. The color of the clients underclothes and skin color in no way affect the measurements.     The new SYMCAD III solution boasts several technical benefits. The solutions depth sensors use optical triangulation (near-infrared light - NIR) to take the measurements. The solution also employs cutting-edge technology to eliminate electronic and optical interference. This results in an accuracy rate well below 1%. The reconstruction of the human body is realistic with virtually no noise or inaccuracies.      The floor space measures 3.3m². Ultra-rapid measurement acquisition time: 1 second for a 10-sensor set-up and 1.8 seconds for a 20-sensor set-up.     3D acquisition can be taken over 360°, because of the position of the sensors. Several measurement positions are possible. The accuracy of a cylinder with a circumference measuring 1.60 m and with a height of 1.90 m is less than ± 0.15% or ± 1.5 ‰ (per thousand).     Measurement limits are: height 2.05 m, depth 0.8 m and width 1 m.                Over 140 measurements are automatically taken and can be consulted in less than 30 seconds. The measurement position control can be performed on pictograms and/or on real body forms.         Over thirty made-to-measure clothing shops in Europe already use the Telmat body measurement system.   About Telmat Industrie, www.telmat.com    TELMAT Industrie is a company specializing in providing IT solutions for the Telecoms, 3D Vision and Internet Security domains.
