L’Oreal to spread salons targets 25% year-on-year growth for next 5yrs

French beauty and cosmetics major L’Oreal’s professional products divisions will spread its network of salons as it expects a 25 per cent year-on-year growth for the next five years.   "We see at least 25 per cent CAGR (compounded annual growth rate) for the next years. We have doubled our distribution in the last three years. We have gone to a large number of tier II and tier III cities. Idea is to continue growing. While smaller cities will grow faster, bigger chunk of business still exists in big cities," L’Oreal Professional Products Division Director Aseem Kaushik told PTI.   L’Oreal Professionals’ products are available in 350 cities and sold through 35,000 salons. The company’s professional products range contributes 25 per cent to total turnover.   Talking about new launches, Kaushik said: "We continue to add sub brands in India. We know that scalp concerns are a big need gap in India, especially in the professional products arena. We will look at it next year. It will be a full range of products." However, he refused to elaborate on it.   Last year, the company launched L’Oreal mythic oil range. The company is also bullish on its initiative to train and educate hairdressers across the country and had also organized the annual Indian Hairdressing Awards. "This will drive the growth of organizing hair dressing industry. Cheryl’s enters into strategic acquisition deal with L’Oreal

Mumbai September 25th, Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals, a pioneer in professional skin care products and treatments in beauty salons today said it has entered into a strategic acquisition agreement with French cosmetics giant L’Oreal to acquire brand name. L’Oreal last week announced acquisition of city-based Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals for an undisclosed amount. "We have entered into a strategic acquisition agreement with L’Oreal under which our 126 products and 150 odd staff will go under French cosmetic major and manufacturing facilities will remain with Cheryl’s," Cheryl’s Director Oscar Pereira told reporters here. Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals was created in 1986 and is known for skin care treatments and products across salons in India. In 2013, Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals had a distribution network spanning over 10,000 salons in India and a turnover of nearly Rs 30 crore, Pareira said. "This is an attractive opportunity for L’Oreal in India as it broadens the product offering of our professional products division in this country to also include skincare products and services," L’Oreal India Managing Director Jean-Christophe Letellier said.
