Stéphane LE FOLL, the Minister of Agriculture and Guillaume GAROT, the Minister of Agro-food department, acknowledge the recent agreement concerning the cold chain. An Indo-French agreement to reinforce cooperation in the cold chain expertise has been signed between the CEMAFROID (Cold chain expertise centre) in France and the National Centre for Cold chain Development (NCCD) in India in Agro-food and Agriculture departments. Following the 1st Indo-French Cold Chain Summit organized in India by The French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE on the 6th November 2012, this agreement was signed in the context of the International Cold Chain Seminar held in Paris on 3rd and 4th April. This is a major agreement to reinforce cooperation between the 2 countries in this sector, by sharing the knowledge, the development of technologies, the training and improvement of skills, especially concerning the technical standards. This close cooperation should enable more interactions between industrials and investors from both countries in that particular area, and to develop high quality standards for cold chain professionals. The cold chain development is a major issue in India to add value to its agricultural potential, to meet the consumers demand and to limit greenhouse gas emission. As a matter of fact, India is key player in the food industry international market. The Ministers welcomes this agreement as « one of the major Indo-French cooperation in agriculture sector”. “It is an important stage in the cooperation of the 2 associations and a new step for the Indo-French agricultural cooperation.”   Source : Press release of the Ministry of Agriculture, agro-Food and Forest.
