The French Trade Commission-UBIFRANCE organised targeted B2B meetings and assisted a delegation of six French companies for the third time on this exhibition, in their endeavour to foster partnerships and strategic alliances with Indian companies in the promising biotechnology sector. The previous participations in the years 2006 and 2008 were also a huge success.

The visit of the delegation to Bangalore from the 4th to 6th of May, was in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Paris who had also organised meeting programs for some of the companies of the delegation.

The exhibition was graced by H.E Mr Jérôme Bonnafont, the French Ambassador to India who gave a speech during the Inauguration ceremony and H.E Mr B. S. Yeddyurappa, Chief Minister of the State of Karnataka. Several dignitaries from the Department of I.T, B.T and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka and Ms Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairman & Managing Director of Biocon, the leading biotechnology company in India were also present at this time.

During the event, meetings were organised for the companies from the delegation on the French Stand as well as in the Bio Partnering rooms assigned to the companies for the individual meetings.
The meetings were well attended by Indian as well as some foreign companies seeking collaborations.

The representatives of Domain Therapeutics & Azothis made presentations in the conference programme titled “Gateway to Europe” alongwith with the delegates from the European Business Technology Centre. Their presentations were focussed on promoting France as a preferred destination for fast track partnerships in the Biotechnology sector.

The CEO Conclave and Networking dinner were also attended by the companies on the first day of the exhibition. In addition to that, the French delegation won the award for the Best International Participation on the parameters of the stand, the quality of the participants, their innovative technologies as well as a significant presence on the exhibition.

The event gathered extensive media coverage with the local & national press covering the event, as well as the French television channel France 24 interviewing some of the representatives of the French companies present on the stand as well as filming the attractive stand strategically positioned at the entrance of the exhibition.
