Sommet de l’élevage

Elisabeth Fosso - 16-oct.-2015 10:41:41
Europe’s main livestock show took place in Clermont-Ferrand during three days. Along with the SPACE 2015, it is one of the main events in the French agricultural industry. From Wednesday 7 th October to Friday 9 th , 1300 exhibitors gathered to welcome 85,000 professionals as well as 4,000 foreigners. About 70 countries were represented including newcomers such as Greece, Hungary, New-Zealand and Australia. The Sommet de l’élevage is thus the second biggest agricultural event after the Paris Agricultural Show.   Even though Clermont-Ferrand is the cradle of the biggest cattle breed, cows were not allowed to attend the show due to outbreaks of blue tongue in the region. Only sheep and horses could be represented for sanitary reasons. Yet, the main objective remained trade and exports for farmers in a crisis context, and international visitors could still discover some French breeding farms. Source:,,,

Success of the “French Homeware and Giftware Trade Meeting”

Christel Roche - 03-juin-2010 11:03:13
On Tuesday the 1st of June, the French Trade Commission in Ireland was pleased to organise “ The French Homeware and Giftware Trade Meeting ” in the Résidence of France inviting a selection of home decoration and gift buyers to discover 6 major French companies: SDE, Arguel, La Rochère, Poyet Motte, Laurette and Déglingos. The day began by a presentation of the decoration and gift market in Ireland by Fintan Smyth, owner of the original boutique Paradise Lane with a unique concept situated on South William Street. This exchange of information enabled the French exhibitors to have a better understanding of the Irish market before meeting with the buyers.  Among our 62 visiting companies, we were honoured to welcome renowned retailers such as Clerys and The Bottom Drawer of Brown Thomas, as well as key interior decorators such as Kitt Interiors and Mc Cabe Design partnership. Enchanted by the French “je ne sais quoi” and the uniqueness of the products, some discussions led to orders. The event was a real success in terms of the quality of exhibitors and visitors. It has proven to be of real interest to our participants and a valuable first approach to the Irish market. Feel free to visit the gallery for pictures of the event.
