750 million € funding from the European Investment Bank for developing renewable energy projects in France

The EIB announced the launch of “France Renewable Energy” with a funding of 750 million euros for the development of renewable energy projects in France between 2014 and 2016. Projects selected from public or private entities will have access to favorable financial conditions and will develop wind, solar, hydro and geothermal energy .   “France renewable Energy” will be implemented in collaboration with Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, Crédit Agricole Group and BPCE Group.  The granted loans will represent 50% of the required funding for each project selected with a capital cost of less than 50 million €. Partner banks will be responsible for project selection and structuring financing. By 2020, the EU will increase heavily investments in renewable energies for its energy transition. France is among the first countries receiving this effort with over 1 billion of new funding in this area in 2013.   Source : Crédit Agricole, 1/04/2014
