Champagne & Provence wine tasting

On Wednesday the 4th of November, we are organizing a mini food and wine fair at the French Embassy. At this occasion, 2 wine producers will be there.

  • Champagne Sanchez Le Guedard

This Independent wine grower « récoltant-manipulant », grow its own Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay in Cumières (3,5Km from Epernay) to produce 5 different champagnes: Brut, Brut Rosé, Grande Réserve, Blanc de Blancs and Prestige millésimé (vintage). This family house established in 1950 has always used hand riddling method for the entire production. They are as known for their tradition as they are for their modernity.

  • Chateau de Brigue, AOC Côtes de Provence

Divers products from Rosé wine with fine red fruits notes to more unusual ones such as AOC Rosé Effervescent Provence (sparkling) or Red wine without sulphite added. 3 distinct terroirs:

  • 20 ha in the middle of calcareous clay hills planted with Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsaut, Sémillon, Rolle, Clairette and Ugni Blanc

  • 25 ha on Lutite (red sedimentary rocks) planted with Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsaut, Carignan and Tibouren.

  • 30 ha of Cinsaut, Carignan, Caladoc, Marselan and Viognier on alluvial-sandstone. During the winter, barley and vetch are grown between the vines.
