PRESS RELEASE   Digitalization at the forefront of  the 4th UAE France Oil and Gas Connecting Days    United Arab Emirates; April 2019: Business France jointly with EVOLEN, and the French Business Group hosted the 4th annual UAE France Oil and Gas Connecting Days in the beginning of April in Abu Dhabi. Launched under the patronage of His Excellency Ludovic Pouille, Ambassador of France to the United Arab Emirates, the two-day forum focused on Digitalization, Energy Efficiency, New Technologies for Gas Processing and Plant Operations. The topics presented in a series of presentations of new solutions by the French innovative companies participating, towards ADNOC Group’s Key decision makers.   Since 2015, the UAE France Oil and Gas Connecting Days has become an essential rendez-vous between UAE and France in the Oil & Gas sector. This year with the support of Total in the UAE as gold sponsor and Schneider Electric as silver sponsor, over 10 companies were represented to showcase the latest technology and industry innovations.     The forum took place in two distinct locations bridging the topics with live demonstrations. On the first day of the event took place at Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, next to the Sheikh Khalifa Energy Complex where ADNOC subsidiaries are located. On the second day, French companies met ADNOC operational teams in the Ruwais Industrial Area where hydrocarbons are processed.    The historical ties between the United Arab Emirates and France having served as a strong base in bilateral cooperations in an important number of domains, is particulary prevalent in Oil & Gas field. The strong innovative capabilities of the French industry in Energy, Oil and Gas sectors will help to strengthen business relationships between Emirati and French organizations.   With Digitalization as the overarching theme, the forum covered Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics/Maintenance. Sessions on Energy Efficiency included details on Waste Heat Recovery, Energy Management software and tools, Energy optimization in Gas Processing and the Best Available Techniques (BAT). 3rd UAE France Oil and Gas Connecting Days Abu Dhabi, June 25-26, 2018

United Arab Emirates; July 3 , 2018: Business France jointly with EVOLEN, and the French Business Group hosted the third UAE France Oil and Gas Connecting Days from June 25th to 26th in Abu Dhabi and Ruwais. The two days forum included ADNOC and its subsidiaries, as well as several ADNOC partners including Mudabala Petroleum. This event was launched under the patronage of His Excellency Ludovic Pouille, Ambassador of France to the United Arab Emirates. Following the successful sessions in 2015 and 2017, under the framework of UAE France strategic dialog,  the third UAE France Oil and Gas Connecting Days aims to highlight the strong innovative capabilities of the French industry in Energy and Oil and Gas sectors and to strengthen business relationships in the fields of Oil and Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Energy and new technologies, between Emirati and French organizations. Young French Professionals under the spotlight - Grand Prix VIE Award 2017

United Arab Emirates, December 2017: The V.I.E Grand Prix Award ceremony was held on Dec. 7, 2017, at the Fairmont The Palm Hotel. The 8th Grand Prix V.I.E Award and the 1st SME Grand Prix award ceremonies were organized by the French Advisors for Foreign Trade (Conseillers du commerce extérieur de la France – CCE). With 1 260 V.I.E (Volontaires internationaux en entreprises – young professionals) hosted in the UAE in 341 companies since 2002, the V.I.E program is performing well in the country. It is witnessing unprecedented great progress, with 184 V.I.E  in December (vs. 162 in 2016), marking a 14% increase and bringing the number of V.I.E  in the Near / Middle East to 266, of which 70% are based in the UAE. As many as a hundred French firms are relying on VIE program for their development in the country. These young professionals are working in all types of firms (start-ups, SME, mid-cap and large groups), in various sectors (oil and gas, industry, luxe retail, food and beverage, health, tech, etc.) and all profiles, mainly focused on support functions (finance, marketing, human resources, etc.) and business development. This growing success of V.I.E program in the region is due to the investment of the French team for export in promoting it: Business France ensures the administrative aspects and the promotion of the program, the CCE UAE Committee, the French Embassy, the Economy department of the French Embassy, the French Business Council and French Business Group, and the V.I.E club (gathering former V.I.E). For the 8th Grand Prix V.I.E Award, nearly one-fourth (31 V.I.E and V.I.A, assigned in administration) were candidates among the 140 eligible V.I.E/V.I.A). A first selection phase was based on files submitted and on interviews conducted last Spring. 15 shortlisted candidates/teams were auditioned again later on. They have been evaluated on their general presentation, the impact of their actions, the results achieved for the company and their integration in local life. All candidates demonstrated great personal and professional qualities. In front of 250 attendants, and with the presence of Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, French State Secretary in charge of Foreign trade, Alain Bentejac, President of CCE World Committee, Jacques Delajugie, Head of Regional Economic Departments, and H.E. Ludovic Pouille, French Ambassador in the UAE, the awards have been granted to: - Nastasia Nelidoff, (1st Grand Prix award, 12 000 AED), on assignment in Cartier perfumes Middle East, for her creativity and her contribution to the success of her company in the region. - Ali Nair, Khalid Achtal, Mustapha Ouissi, Soufiane Khyar, Houssem Rezgui, from Emerson (2nd Grand Prix award, 8 000 AED). They demonstrated the strength of their tight collaboration on a daily basis.  They showed how VIE program had a real impact on the running of the company. - Sarah Amazit, working in Alstom (3rd Grand Prix award, 6 000 AED).  Sarah contributed to the success of the leading project of the Dubai 2020 Metro extension. - Chirine El Messiri (Jury Special Prize, winning a flight ticket with Air France). As Cultural advisor in the French Institute, she was rewarded for her professional maturity and her impressive contribution to spreading French culture across the UAE.   

Report on the ceremony of the Young French Professionnal Program Award (Grand Prix V.I.E)- – United Arab Emirates 2016

The 7th edition of the “Grand Prix VIE” United Arab Emirates, organized by the Foreign Trade Advisors (CCE) of France with the support of Business France, was closed on March 17th 2016 with the award ceremony of the prizewinners. The ceremony was held at the Eastern Mangrooves hotel in Abu Dhabi in the framework of the Middle East Section Annual Meeting of the CCE. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Michel Miraillet, French Ambassador in the United Arab Emirates; Alain Bentejac, President of the CNCCEF; Mikaïl Houari, Chairman of the CCE Emirati section; Marc Cagnard, Director of Business France office in United Arab Emirates; Patrick Erbs, Head of the Economic Department of the French Embassy to the UAE; representatives of the Franco-Emirati Chambers (French Business Council of Dubai and French Business Group of Abu Dhabi); etc. The 2016 edition gathered 15 candidates from French companies ofdifferent sectors and sizes, based in the UAE. The winners are: Grand Prix VIE – Large companies: Thomas Radiguet, Auditor Rares Gas & Helium, Air Liquide Grand Prix VIE – SME: Martin Saunier-Plumaz, Business developer, VIE working for several French SMEs. He is hosted in the premises of the French Business Council. He has carried out missions for the following companies: Advansolar, Quantaflow, STEAM France, Sunna Design. Performance Prize: Thibaut Guéroult, Technical Engineer/Business developer at Lefranc Company . He is hosted in the premises of Business France in Dubai. Prize of Adaptability to local life / Creativity: Laure Jardry, Project Manager / External relations, France Museums Agency-Louvre Abu Dhabi Special Prize of the Jury: Sébastien Herriau, Sales Manager Middle East, Chocolaterie Monbana The “Grand Prix VIE” enables to highlight the career of young French professionals, their personality, their human and professional qualities, and the export projects of French companies (especially dynamic and engaged SMEs). These VIE are “ambassadors” of France and they represent the creativity of France’s entrepreneurial network. An award on Creativity was newly given this year, in the framework of the French Campaign “Créative France”. The V.I.E program is a real success in the UAE, where more than 170 young French professional are hosted today, which means an increase of 13% within one year. Worldwide, there are more than 9 000 VIEs for 1 900 French companies.
