In 2017, the French medical devices market posted €28 billion, earned by more than 1,300 companies, of which 92% are SMEs. The industrial sector generates 85,000 jobs in France. Growth in the sector is fueled in large part by export, an area in which turnover is growing by 5% per year. France offers tremendous potential for innovation in the medical devices sector thanks to recognized industrial, scientific and medical expertise. The medical devices sector stands out for its three-pronged growth model: “reasoned innovation / internationalization / external growth”, with exports as the main driver, in light of the obstacles on the domestic market. In this respect, innovation remains of central importance to these companies. It is illustrated by a desire to develop solutions that integrate new functionalities, in particular developed from e-health technologies. With the support of Sanofi, FedEx and regional partners from France such as Bretagne Commerce International, DEV’UP, Lille Eurasanté and Medicalps, the French Pavilion will give center stage to the latest innovations at the 2019 edition of Arab Health. The BIG 5 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION SHOW A key event for French companies seeking to position themselves in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East Dubai – November 26 to 29, 2018 United Arab Emirates- November  2018 : to enable French companies to seize new opportunities or reinforce their existing presence, Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, will once again be running two French pavilions at the BIG 5, the Middle East’s leading construction industry show. Twenty-four companies from the industry’s various sectors will be presenting their products, services and expertise to local businesses. The French construction,  finishing work industry has several undeniable strengths in line with the Expo 2020 Dubai, likely to require transport and tertiary infrastructure, and will therefore create a whole host of opportunities that French companies must leverage by establishing ties with local decision makers. with a highly fragmented network of 392,000 companies and sales of €135 billion in 2017, the industry has one or more global leaders from France in most of its component sectors: VINCI, EIFFAGE, BOUYGUES and SPIE, to name just a few. France boasts a highly diverse offering when it comes to the building trades, with companies of all sizes providing structural engineering services and finishing work (carpentry, roofing, insulation, sanitation, air-conditioning, smoke detectors, etc.) and interior fittings (wall and floor coverings, luxury tapware, home automation, etc.). Marc Cagnard, Managing Director Business France Middle East commented: “Innovation features strongly in French companies, from new and biosourced building materials, wooden construction driven by ecological considerations, and smart building in BIM – Building Information Modeling – to home automation, smart meters, energy optimization tools, solar glass, and smart thermostats, boilers and bulbs, these are just some of the development initiatives currently being pursued by businesses in the sector”. Lastly, France enjoys a strong reputation for quality and reliability, which are especially important in the construction industry due to safety risks. France tends to maintain a strong presence internationally with €22 billion generated in foreign markets, to export top-quality carefully designed, advanced technology products (innovative insulation materials, building facades that let in natural light, suspended ceilings, clay roof tiles, natural paints, decorative fireplaces, etc.). The only way to protect people and property in the face of this type of events is to systematically install appropriate, certified and patented fire barrier solutions during construction. Among the products for which GV2 VEDA FRANCE is famous, the VEDAFEU range, designed to offer passive fire protection, consists of ropes, mattresses, blankets, fillerboards and firestop foam.  This patented range is validated by local authorities (UAE Civil Defense, Qatar Civil Defense, Kuwait Fire Department...) and has obtained international certifications (EN, UL, BS) issued by world-renowned independent official laboratories (Efectis, CSTB, TÜV Singapore, Exova...). VEDAFEU products are fire-rated up to 4 hours and can be used for joint gaps up to 840 mm. In order to meet the most challenging technical requirements, these firestop solutions are validated in multiple configurations: - with and without movement; for horizontal and vertical applications, for head-of-wall configurations, for facade panels… End For more info, feel free to contact Business France: Miryem Oukas Messidi Head of Communications – Middle East Mobile: +971 (0)55 478 32 15 Mail : Note To Editors: Exhibitors on the  French pavilions: A. Winner of the Zayed Future Energy Prize, the French Clean Tech Sunna Design meets the UAE and international markets

Rejula ARUN - 16-janv.-2018 11:41:03
Abu Dhabi, January, 2018 - Selected from over 1,180 attendees, the French Clean Tech company Sunna Design was honored today, January 15th, to win the Zayed Future Energy Prize in the "Small and Medium Enterprise" category, on the sidelines of the 11th World Future Energy Summit (WFES). The four-day event is one of the world’s leading meetings in the renewable energy sector. The Zayed Future Energy Prize, as an essential part of the summit, rewards the most innovative initiatives in the field of renewable energy. Receiving the award is, for Sunna Design, a form of recognition of the hard work of its teams, with the aim of providing the best solar street lighting solutions. The battery developed by Sunna Design is designed to last 10 years in harsh climatic conditions – whether desert or intertropical - with temperatures up to 70 ° C. “Sunna Design’s technology is not only transforming the quality of life of rural communities, it is also contributing to the evolution of future smart cities,” said Dr Nawal Al-Hosany, Director of the Zayed Future Energy Prize. According to Thomas SAMUEL, founder and CEO of Sunna Design: "This award provides, once again, a proof of the reliability of our technology. Already deployed in more than 40 countries, our solar street lighting solutions are adapted to both Northern and Southern countries, developed as well as emerging markets. We now take this award as a sincere encouragement in our future projects. Thus, we fully realize the scope of our responsibilities as a winner and seek to positively impact the global economy.” With this new award, Sunna Design further strengthens its international credibility, which is no longer to prove. This award is also an opportunity to improve our positioning in the Gulf market and more particularly in the United Arab Emirates, which is a strategic and promising market for us. The country, in full energy transformation, aims at meeting 44% of its energy needs with the use of renewable energy. Significant efforts have already been made, as the UAE’s expressed its intention to invest $ 150 billion in energy diversification. As a result of their commitment and technological leadership in the renewable energy sector, the UAE is a stimulating market for us, with promises of future achievements. It is in this vein that we want today to be the key player that will push the Emirates towards this transformation. Our participation in the World Future Energy Summit is therefore an important milestone in the conquest of the UAE market, but also beyond, because we are convinced that an intelligent partnership with UAE players could put us in a good position to conquer together global markets, particularly very high-potential West African markets.
