Saint-Gobain’s First Multi Comfort House in the Middle East Breaks Ground at Masdar City

Rejula ARUN - 13-mai-2018 16:15:41
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, May 13, 2018: French multinational Saint-Gobain has broken ground on its first Multi Comfort House in the Middle East at Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s flagship sustainable urban community. In the presence of HE Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment and Ludovic Pouille, French Ambassador to the UAE, Pierre-André de Chalendar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Saint-Gobain, and Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), conducted today’s foundation stone laying ceremony. The Multi Comfort House at Masdar City is one of 30 similar projects around the world. It is the first in the Middle East and a hot region anywhere in the world. On completion at the end of next year, it will demonstrate Saint-Gobain’s patented technology aimed at improving health and well-being by optimizing the human experience within the built environment. According to the Multi-Comfort philosophy, homes that are more comfortable make for happier and more productive people, and are more sustainable as a result.  A world leader in the habitat and construction sector, Saint-Gobain will further increase its UAE presence through the Multi Comfort House, as well as raise awareness of its innovative solutions addressing the challenges of sustainable construction, resource efficiency and climate change. “The UAE is a reference in construction development,”’ said Pierre-André de Chalendar, Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s top 100 industrial groups. “It is building excellence, represented through Masdar City, is a role model for all, and Saint-Gobain is proud to be part of it.” He added: “Feeling good in a building is about having the perfect amount of light, the proper level of sound, the ideal temperature and a constant supply of fresh air. It is about design and technology, beauty and safety, efficiency and sustainability. This is precisely what Saint-Gobain can provide and demonstrate through this state-of-the-art Multi Comfort House to be constructed at Masdar City.”    A “greenprint” for sustainable urban development, Saint-Gobain considered Masdar City the natural location to highlight its expertise in comfortable and sustainable home living. “It is a privilege to receive the chairman and CEO of one of France’s most prestigious companies at Masdar City, and to partner with Saint-Gobain in realizing its first Multi-Comfort House in the Middle East,” said Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi. “Our towns and cities consume around two-thirds of the world’s energy and account for more than 70 per cent of global carbon emissions. At the same time, the way our homes and offices are designed impacts our health, well-being and quality of life significantly.” “Saint-Gobain’s Multi-Comfort philosophy reinforces our own concept of sustainable urban development, which is based on the three pillars of economic, social and environmental sustainability,” added Al Ramahi. “It also complements the Eco-Villa prototype opened at Masdar City last year, conceived as a template for affordable and highly energy- and water-efficient residential villas in the UAE. We look forward to further collaboration with Saint-Gobain in commercial sustainable real estate as we continue on our journey to realize the world’s most sustainable urban community here at Masdar City.”  Saint-Gobain will build the 400-square-metre Multi Comfort House on a 2,200-square-metre site next to the Masdar City Eco-Villa. On completion, it will serve as both a Multi Comfort “experience centre” and an office for Saint-Gobain employees, while also providing training in the company’s products and solutions. It will be fully adapted to the UAE climate.   The German architecture and engineering consultancy Obermeyer will design and supervise construction of the project, expected to open by the end of 2019. Saint-Gobain first developed the concept of Multi Comfort construction in 2004. It covers the four dimensions of light, air quality, temperature and acoustics within the home, as well as tertiary buildings such as shops, offices and public buildings. -Ends- About Masdar City Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City is one of the world’s most sustainable developments. Alstom delivers on time the first metro trainset to Riyadh

Rejula ARUN - 07-mars-2017 08:48:23
March 7, 2017 – Alstom , as a part of FAST consortium , hands over to Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) the first of the 69 metro trainsets for Riyadh that will circulate on the lines 4, 5 and 6. The production of the metro trainsets is well on track and Alstom has set to meet its deadline and deliver all the metro trainsets by end 2018.  ADA launched in 2013 a project to build a metro network that would be 176 km-long and include six lines and 85 stations. Alstom, as part of the Fast consortium , is in charge of supplying a full integrated metro system for lines 4, 5 and 6 (or Yellow, Green, and Purple lines). The metro system includes 69 Metropolis trainsets, as well as Urbalis, Alstom CBTC  signalling solution, the power supply and its energy recovery system Hesop. Composed of two cars each, the Riyadh metro trainset is 36 meter-long and is able to accommodate up to 231 passengers. Each train features three classes: first, family and single class separated by a glass partition. The trains will offer passengers a high level of comfort, ergonomic seating, LED lightning and advanced passenger information systems.   The interior and exterior aesthetical design has been developed as per ADA’s specific requirements. The exterior car body features painted stripes that indicate the color of the line the metro trainset will circulate on. The metro trains are 100% motorized, allowing them to run on gradients of up to a 6% slope. The trains are designed to run on standard-gauge track at a top speed of 90 km/h. The trains have been designed with the region’s climate in mind. One such feature is a more powerful air conditioning system, capable of delivering sufficient cooling capacity even in extreme heat. In addition, the bogies, traction drive, brakes and doors have been fitted with special elements in order to prevent the ingress of sand. "We are pleased to hand over on time the first Metropolis trainset to ADA. This landmark project will allow Riyadh residents and visitors to commute aboard a reliable, comfortable and environmentally-friendly means of transport. Furthermore, Alstom is committed to be a close and long-time partner of the Kingdom to efficiently address its mobility needs and support in carrying out its upcoming transport projects” declared Gian Luca Erbacci, Senior Vice President for Middle East & Africa at Alstom. The metro trainsets are produced in Alstom’s factory in Katowice, Poland. Metropolis is part of Alstom’s metro range. More than 5,000 Metropolis cars have been sold worldwide to cities like Panama, Singapore, Sydney, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, or Amsterdam. The French company, Babilou Group, announces the opening of Babilou Downtown Dubai, its First Signature Nursery in the Middle East

Yousra LAHBABI - 08-déc.-2015 11:37:32
United Arab Emirates; December 2015 – The prestigious French company, Babilou Group, opened its first Signature Nursery in Downtown Dubai, in November 2015 and announced the opening of its second branch in Umm Suqeim in the coming few weeks . His Excellency the Ambassador of France to the UAE, Mr. Michel Miraillet and the General Consul of France in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Mr. Majdi Abed inaugurated Babilou Downtown on November 25 th 2015, showing their support to the growth of the European Early Education Leader. This Nursery represents a milestone in Babilou’s international development since the group decided, in 2014, to expand its operations outside Europe, where it is already managing a network of 850 Nurseries and Early Learning Centers. Babilou Downtown is located at the ground floor of the Emaar building 8 Boulevard Walk. The Nursery welcomes children every day from 8 am to 6 pm throughout the year without interruption. Babilou’s Early Education Experts teach English, French and Arabic in a cozy, safe and carefully designed environment. Babilou Downtown, like every other Babilou Signature Nursery, aims to be a welcoming second home for children and their families. The Nursery team is composed by qualified professionals who have the skills and competencies to care for children and help them develop in the best conditions possible while respecting their individuality. The usage of wifi, microwaves and electronic devices is strictly forbidden to ensure maximum safety. The main mission of the reputable French Early Education Expert is to provide families with reliable, high quality and accessible early childhood facilities to help parents achieve a better work-life balance and gain peace of mind and empower women in their professional life.                               Babilou handles internally the design of its Signature Nurseries with a multi-disciplinary team of early childhood professionals and specialized architects and designers. Everything is carefully studied to promote children’s alertness and socialization whilst respecting the environment. They create a personalized universe that is up to children’s standards: all furniture, toys and equipment are age appropriate and promote comfort and security . The Nurseries include spacious classrooms, comfortable sleeping rooms, feeding and breastfeeding rooms, libraries and play areas to create a harmonious and stimulating living space. Designers also ensure the child’s physical security by meticulously adhering to high standards of hygiene and security maintained at all times.   Ultimately, hospitality is Babilou’s core business: build a strong human relationship between the Nursery team and a family, between an educator and a child. The Nursery teams aim to support children in building their own identity, self-discovery and awakening, while respecting their own pace and their uniqueness.   Ibtissem Rezaig, proud mother of Farah, 12 months, is a loyal parent who moved with Babilou from Paris to Dubai. She says: “ My daughter Farah was in a Babilou Nursery in Paris, so we were delighted to know that Babilou was present in Dubai. My experience with Babilou was very positive and Farah loved it! The staff were lovely and there was a real educational program and awakening. Moreover, Babilou Dubai offers the Montessori Method, it delights me even more. For me, Babilou is the guarantee to have peace of mind and know my child is safe and fulfilled!” Babilou has 5 core values which inspire them daily, internally with the teams, partners, towards families and most importantly the children are: ·          Kindness : being attentive to one another, respect each other, treat others fairly, and being supportive of children, parents, teams, and partners. ·          Commitment : working while being aware that families are entrusting Babilou, with what is the most important person in their lives and that Babilou decisions have a major impact on the children and their welfare. ·          Diversity : recognizing the variety of cultures and the individual uniqueness of personalities and all that they bring. ·          Quality : Working every day to improve the care for our children and their families, the well-being of Babilou teams and the satisfaction of Babilou clients. ·          Team spirit : believing in each one’s talent, in the collective intelligence and responsibility. Considering that working together is strength and that everyone can contribute. Being supportive and knowing how to overcome challenges and celebrate achievements in order to grow together.   Like in Europe, Babilou also provides consultancy services: the Nursery group works with companies who wish to create a Nursery or Early Learning Center for their employees inside or outside their premises. Babilou invites any parent to come and visit Babilou Downtown or Babilou Umm Suqeim – Call 800 BABILOU (2224568) For more details: www.babilou.ae or Babilou Middle East on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. BIOLABO to launch new full automated coagulometer, SOLEA 100 at Arab Health 2016

Yousra LAHBABI - 29-nov.-2015 14:54:03
United Arab Emirates - November 2015 ; At the next Arab Health – MEDLAB exhibition from January 25 to 28, 2016, French firm BIOLABO will be introducing SOLEA 100, an analyzer for haemostasis capable of performing over 100 tests per hour. Featuring an exclusive 8-channel cuvette system, it is fast, reliable and cost-effective. SOLEA 100 performs over 100 tests per hour in routine mode (PT + APTT + TT + FIB), thanks to optimal use of the cuvette racks. The very low dead volume (0.2 ml) saves considerably on reagent. Racks with unused cuvettes are returned for later use. The analyzer is made to the most exacting standards to ensure optimal reliability ; all of the critical components are made in Europe, which means that it is particularly robust . BIOLABO is a French firm that manufactures reagents and analyzers for medical biology, including almost 20 million coagulation tests per year. It has been in business for 36 years and offers three ranges of reagents: biochemistry (cholesterol, triglycerides, enzymes, etc.); coagulation (INR, partial thromboplastin time, fibrinogen, etc.); and specific proteins (HbA1c, CRP, etc.). It is therefore involved in the diagnosis of major pandemic diseases: cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, hepatitis, obesity, blood functions, etc. The majority of BIOLABOs reagents have very long expiration dates — usually three years after manufacture — which gives distributors and users a comfortable competitive edge. Thanks to a sustained program of investments, the firm has 1 200 m² of laboratory space, 840 m 3 of temperature-controlled storage space, and 2 000 m 3 of ambient temperature storage space; it also uses a next-generation freeze dryer, which is able to handle up to 20 000 bottles of reagent. The export market accounts for more than 95% of BIOLABOs production. One third goes to the Middle East, where it has a highly organized distribution network: there is an exclusive BIOLABO distributor in each country, employing engineers and technicians trained in France. Every year, BIOLABO takes part in twenty or so biology trade shows and congresses in the Near and Middle East. The Arabian Peninsula offers the greatest potential, as patients there are highly informed about medical technology. They are very demanding when it comes to the quality of medical testing, since around 70% of healthcare decisions are taken on the basis of diagnoses established through such tests. This requirement for quality produces a virtuous circle. It increases the vigilance of the public authorities and the professionalism of distributors, and drives continuous improvement among healthcare professionals. Every year since 2004, BIOLABO has exhibited its products at the French Pavilion in the MEDLAB section. The size of its stand and the large number of visitors it receives reflects the strength of its reputation there. Moreover, visitors are advised to make an appointment beforehand to allow enough time to talk. The CEO himself attends the exhibition every year to meet with other top business leaders in the region. " Arab Health is one of the three trade shows that we attend every year, without fail.  I was there in the early days of Arab Health, and I can testify to the progress it has made.  It is now the worlds leading healthcare exhibition and congress. Thanks to its location in Dubai, it is an excellent place to meet highly competent partners from all over the world. In Dubai, people still have time for constructive discussion, which is great!" BIOLABOs stand is open to the thousands of people who use and trust in its products. Decision-makers, laboratory managers and technicians come along to ask their questions, and are given a warm welcome and personal attention by BIOLABOs engineers. BIOLABO provides serums free of charge for assessing the quality of medical tests as part of a vast program involving numerous hospitals and large NGOs (Médecins Sans Frontières, the UNRWA for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, etc.). This year, BIOLABO will be exhibiting all of its reagents and analyzers. The spotlight will be on SOLEA 100, and a training session on this particular analyzer will be held during the exhibition, in a private room.   From January 25 to 28, 2016, BIOLABO will be exhibiting its products at the French Pavilion at Arab Health in Dubai (MEDLAB hall – French pavilion)
