French plastics experts gathered together for the first time in a French pavilion at the ARABPLAST in Dubai, from 5 to 8 January 2019

Rejula ARUN - 18-déc.-2018 06:20:23

• Inaugural French pavilion • 13 French companies United Arab Emirates, December 16th 2018 - Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, will be organizing its first French Pavilion at the ARABPLAST trade fair with 13 companies representing different sectors of the industry. ARABPLAST has established itself as the leading trade fair for the plastics industry in the Middle East. Its privileged geographical position makes it a particularly popular business location and an ideal meeting place for French exhibitors wishing to develop or intensify their growth in local and regional markets. Given the hydrocarbon reserves available in the United Arab Emirates, plastics processing is one of the country’s priority areas for industrial diversification. Demand comes mainly from the food packaging and electrical tube and cable manufacturing sectors. Last year, the packaging sector grew by 44%. All of the above are excellent reasons for French companies to offer the UAE market alternative solutions in the field of innovative plastics, a sector in which France excels. A creative sector French plastics processing is a structurally expanding growth sector. In 2017, the plastics and composites industry returned to its historic highs, achieving a turnover of €30.2 billion, which is almost identical to 2007 turnover (€31 billion) with 3,500 companies and 128,000 employees. It covers 110 economic sectors, principally food/agri-food (19%), automotive (17%), construction (12%), electricity/electronics (10%) and medical (10%). Major advantages The French plastics industry benefits from its collective innovative strength which is further supported by its Industrial Technical IPC Center (Innovation - Plastics - Composites). Innovation concerns not only products and materials, but also equipment and tooling. 7,600 employees work in R&D in the plastics sector with €636 billion being invested in R&D in 2016. A territorial network organization, that works in close co-operation with companies, total commitment to the French ambition of the circular economy, a conscious policy to train people in order to constantly improve employee skills and qualifications, are the other advantages of the plastics industry, which underpin its ambitions for the future of its undertakings. Since 2010, exports of plastic products have been growing at a rate of 4.2% per year, a rate that may even reach 5.2% this year. France is ranked 2nd in Europe and 7th in the world. There are many sectors that are promising for the French plastics industry: - For sectors that use packaging products, plastics offer an efficient means of meeting product safety and regulatory compliance requirements; - The automotive sector will require ever-increasing quantities of plastic if it is to meet the challenge of reducing vehicle weight; - Plastics are required for a wide range of construction industry products, such as coatings, pipes and cables, PVC joinery, insulation.  French manufacturers place particular emphasis on energy efficiency, recycling, maintenance, durability, weight reduction, etc; - The medical/health sector, in which France is a world leader, is also very important for plastics.  The applications are numerous and diverse - medical and pharmaceutical packaging, prostheses, syringes, etc. We invite you to get to know the companies exhibiting on the French pavilion that operate in most of these sectors: Rigid and soft PVC compound formulator and manufacturer for injection and extrusion  Manufacturer of machines for extrusion lines of corrugated pipes, netting, sheaths.   Site change in progress High-precision multi-cavity molds (bi-component, cosmetic)  Machines for processing flexible packaging materials, paper, cardboard and aluminum  Designer and manufacturer of high-precision injection molds. Innovative solution to increase the clamping force of injection presses.  Specialist in blow molds for packaging and technical parts.  Manufacturer of filament winding machines  Customized solutions for the production of cardboard tubes, cardboard profiles and cardboard-based composite boxes.  The only French competitiveness cluster dedicated to Plastics -  400 members including 250 companies and 90 research centers.  Designer and manufacturer of high precision multi-cavity molds for your Cap / Medical Part / Tray or Thin Wall Cover. ESMERY CARON can rightly claim to be a pioneer in textile architecture. For over forty years the company has been making noteworthy contribution to the expansion and development of this field and has a distinguished record of high profile projects. ESMERY CARON now endeavours to leverage its expertise to assist architects and general businesses in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries and it intends to make a first step in this direction by taking part in the upcoming Dubai BIG 5 show to be held from November 25th to 28th. Stretched canvasses have emerged as key elements of modern architecture owing to the development of technical textiles. The highly flexible architectural membrane structures present great potential for constant innovations and are an excellent medium for revitalising the building sector. ESMERY CARON’s success in this sector is centred on a single facility combing the skills and expertise of a design office, a textile factory, assembly staff and a qualified and experienced maintenance and repair service available throughout France and abroad. Thanks to this integrated solution, the company has established a solid reputation for quality and reliability.  ESMERY CARON has been awarded major contracts in urban planning, sports and industry as well as recreational and reception facilities. Its many prestigious achievements range from the Toulouse and Toulon Stadiums as well as more than 10 others, the Zénith in Paris, a pool in Casablanca, Morocco, stands and grandstands in Equatorial Guinea and pond covers in Riyadh. The company has also developed Architex®, a patented range of semi-standardised textile architecture tailored to specific uses: Texispan® designed to cover walkways, car parks, entrance areas, covered playgrounds or courtyards, Ten Linea® for sporting arenas, Ombrage® for outdoor recreational facilities and Texiwood Ecolodge® which offers solutions for the hotel industry, camping sites and holiday villages, the sea front, sports and recreation. ESMERY CARON is committed to limiting its impact on the environment. As such, all its technologies are environmentally friendly. It has reduced pollution on its worksites through strategies such as decreasing the noise level, restricted use of heavy machinery or total waste recovery. Moreover it has joined the Texyloop programme and therefore recycles all its fabrics.  Olivier DUFOUR, CEO of ESMERY CARON sums up the company’s motivation for expanding to this area: “The GCC countries have a strong stretched canvass culture; they highly value our commitment to the design and manufacture of long-lasting products that are of excellent quality. Through our participation in the BIG 5 show, we would like to share our know-how and expertise with the professionals in the Region thereby giving them the opportunity to voice their ambitions and show their creativity for solar protection and planning in fields as varied as port facilities, recreation, tourism, commerce and so forth”.
