CALL FOR APPLICATION: « GAMELAB » RETURNS FOR A SECOND EDITION IN COOPERATION WITH UBISOFT ABU DHABI AND THE FRENCH EMBASSY TO THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES   A competition and a series of workshops to introduce Emirati (UAE – based) students to the creation of video games  9 October, 2019 – Abu Dhabi - Ubisoft Abu Dhabi and the French Embassy to the United Arab Emirates are set for a new edition of GameLab. Both parties have engaged in cooperating for the development of GameLab, a platform aiming at training students from UAE universities to develop their knowledge about the video game industry. Following a cooperation agreement signed in June 2018 and the success of the first edition, H.E. Ludovic Pouille, French Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Yannick Theler, Managing Director of Ubisoft studios in Abu Dhabi, have decided to renew their partnership for the coming academic year. During the first edition, four students from Zayed University won a six-month internship at Ubisoft Studios in Abu Dhabi. The laureates were nominated after having participated in three workshops organized throughout the academic year 2018-2019. They first workshop was held in November 2018, with a general introduction and brainstorming training by Matthew Laurence, Creative Manager at Ubisoft Abu Dhabi.   In January 2019, the second workshop tackled the question of intellectual property and copyright, in cooperation with the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and Gowling WLG.  The final workshop in April 2019, animated by Afif Khaled and Christophe Malcombe, both artists and comic/animation illustrator experts, helped the students materialize their very own original video game concept through drawings and storyboards.  All students were encouraged to team up and work on an original idea.  Among the awardees, Leen Albejawi declared “It is with great pleasure that I give this testimony to one of the most fun experiences I have partaken in. Gamelab is a great initiative that gave me a lot of knowledge in the area of game design. I came in to game-lab with my knowledge in animation, but not much knowledge in the area of game design. I think gamelab is a great introduction to the world of game design and game industry. At the end of the game lab experience I was given the opportunity to intern with UBISOFT which is a great opportunity which I would not have gotten if I wasn’t of a part of gamelab. Thank you to the French Embassy and Ubisoft for this project and I can’t wait to see more people benefitting from such experiences. if you are interested in gaining more knowledge in the area of game design and meet amazing people along the way, I recommend you join game lab because it will offer that and much more!” Moza Alsuwaidi, also a winner from Zayed University added “It was a great opportunity to experience and learn new things. As an animator who works on game design I really learn things that before I didn’t know which helped me in my senior project that I was working on at the time. The Gamelab organizers are really friendly, and I met really cool artists from France.”    The new edition of GameLab will encourage students to work with a “multidisciplinary team” in order to deliver a comprehensive final work during the pitching session.   Together with Airbus and Submer Technologies, 2CRSi has won a very high-performance server contract for a European anti-crime agency   United Arabe Emirates, October 7,2019 – 2CRSi announces that it has been chosen by AIRBUS to provide very high-performance calculation servers that will be used by a European anti-crime agency. This commercial success relates to the rollout of OCtoPus 1.8B servers for a total 3,744 CPU Intel ® Xeon ® cores and more than 7.45 million NVIDIA ® CUDA ® cores. These OCP (Open Compute Project) servers have been specially designed to function in immersion cooling tanks developed by SUBMER TECHNOLOGIES. The range of OCtoPus servers, launched by 2CRSi in 2017, provides a tangible response to the energy requirements of datacenters in order to meet their ecological challenges  with a reduction in the energy consumption of OCtoPus servers of more than 23% compared to equivalent servers fitted with traditional cooling systems. Under this AIRBUS project, the combination of 2CRSi servers and SUBMER TECHNOLOGIES cooling systems offers an even greater reduction in energy consumption through the elimination of air-conditioning: the servers are immersed in a dielectric cooling liquid which is itself cooled through a water circuit. 2CRSi and SUBMER TECHNOLOGIES have succeeded in making the difference as a result of the unique technical features of their submerges servers. Other decisive factors in the choice: the simplification and speed of the installation and fitting-out of the datacenter due to the integration of its products: with this solution, 3 months are sufficient to install the datacenter compared to 1½ to 2 years for a traditional datacenter. This technological achievement has been decisive in winning this contract. Moreover, long-term cost control was crucial for the future renewal of equipment: it will be possible to replace computer components (CPU and GPU cards, memory, etc.), where technological development, is very rapid. Feed and cooling modules will be retained. Overall and in addition to the relatively limited investment budget, the operating costs related to the servers installed at the end client will be reduced by more than 60%. An achievement that is both economic and ecological. With this contract, this customer should be one of the Group’s Top 5 customers in 2019. Two-i is back at GITEX aiming to help cities in search of happiness

    United Arab Emirates: September 19,2019- For the second year running, Two-i will attend Gitex 2019 to present its unique video analysis software, which is called the Map, aiming to improve happiness in the cities. This solution was inspired by the progressive sustainable development goals that Two-i shares with Dubai.  Live analysis of demographic data, such as emotions, age and gender, helps to guide decision-making and measure the impact of initiatives. Happiness is a complex condition that involves a range of variables that are far from just detecting smiles on the faces. The goal is to foster diversity and inclusion for all. It is a virtuous cycle that begins with raw material processing, data collection, the study of data that leads to decision-making, which then leads to the generation of new data, which leads to new decisions, etc. Two-i is among the pioneers in the development of the Map: an interactive cartographic platform that collects and displays all the metadata generated from live video streaming. It allows the user to navigate in his own city and visualize in real time the levels of well-being in the different neighborhoods. By displaying a large amount of important information in such condensed stats, the Map revolutionizes the way city management is perceived. In addition, it has been designed to comply with the constraints of data anonymization.  Two-i has a very creative team, which is cracking the challenges of integrating traffic and flow management solution and connecting external data into its already sophisticated platform in order to generate fully comprehensive Urban Data analytics. Moreover, Two-i’s Research team in collaboration with French hospitals has started medical trials for pain detection and analysis to reduce hospitalization time and increase the effectiveness of analgesic administration. This project allows the company to dig deeper into understanding the complexity of emotions.
