French Culinary Innovations take Center Stage once again at Gulfood 2019

Rejula ARUN - 17-janv.-2019 11:06:36

From February 17th to 21st 2019, DWTC • Over 70 F&B companies to showcase their culinary products • 4 French pavilions will be dedicated to a specific sector: dairy, meat & poultry, beverages, world food United Arab Emirates, January 17th 2019: Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, will be exhibiting across 4 French pavilions at Gulfood 2019. The region’s renowned F&B trade show will showcase products of over 70 French brands and companies. This year, many of them that introduced their products in the year’s past are returning, whilst new companies have come on board to present their new offerings in the world of F&B.  France renews its participation to Gulfood this year to offer the region the best F&B products while introducing new brands and the latest developments from other popular and well-established companies. On an area of 900 square meters, 4 sections will be dedicated to showcase a variety of the exhibitors categorized by dairy products in Hall 1, meat & poultry in Hall 3, beverages in Za’beel Hall and world food in Sheikh Saed Hall. The Middle East market is gaining importance for France and this year’s strong French participation in Gulfood demonstrates that fact.  More than 1,4 billion USD were exported directly into the GCC area, with Saudi Arabia being the 17th market for French savoir-faire and UAE as the 24th. Imports into the UAE from France have grown by over 213 % since 2010 to reach more than USD 446 million in 2017. France is the second largest European supplier to the UAE F&B sector. Globally, France is a key player in numerous F&B segments and has a variety of product ranges that are well tailored for the region. Out of the most famous are the dairy and the bakery sectors. It is also a worldwide leading country in breeding cattle, sheep, goat and poultry holds, whose sector forms a large portion of the country’s gross national product. European leader in fruit & vegetable (with an average of 9 millions of tons produced per year), France leads by investing in innovation, to exploit the benefits of these products in terms of a healthy and responsible diet and to increase consumer orientation towards health, well-being, authenticity and biodiversity. French foodstuff companies specializing in such products will particularly be of focus at Gulfood 2019. Marc Cagnard, Managing Director at Business France Middle East stated: “In France the F&B export industry is vital for our sustainability and it is something we work on and produce with passion. We will be bringing this passion once again to Gulfood with our participation in 2019. We have been strong supporters of this trade show since 1987 and will continue our commitment to foster everlasting F&B business between France and the region. Our returning and new exhibitors are very excited to present some of their latest products that have been launched and to meet with prospective partners from across the region”.    Food industry is the first industrial sector in France. As a traditional strength of the French economy, it is the 6th largest direct exporter worldwide with USD 68.5 billion; furthermore, a large range of products are traded by other market places, showing the importance of French production interest in making business. French companies deem Gulfood as an essential part of the regional and global F&B landscape and many are keen to be represented in this year’s show. Key management and decision makers will be on the stands to meet with local partners & clients, confirm deals and to further expand on the growth of business between France and the various countries of region. “Agri-food is France’s largest industry sector in terms of both revenue and jobs. By 2040, the global population is likely to be approaching 9 billion and the French agri-food market is estimated to be growing by an average of 4% a year, with health food alone set to grow 2.5% a year over the next three years”, Cagnard added. This year, the regional partner agencies - DEV’UP Centre Val de Loire (Center of France), Hauts de France (North of France), Aquitaine Food Agency (South West of France) and Bretagne Commerce International (West of France) - will also be in attendance to support companies from their region during Gulfood. Key partners with fine products contributing to the show’s success include EVIAN, the number one mineral water in the world and in the Middle East, BADOIT, the sparkling mineral water brand for fine dining and endorsed by top Chefs globally, and CAFES RICHARD, a traditional “French-style” coffee roaster linked to the French gastronomy, Art de Vivre and to Paris (the leader on its market). Note to Editors: Furthermore, in France, in 1905, official certifications were created to enable recognition and identification of products for quality and origin: guarantee to be food products that offer high quality, that are typical of a geographical area or have been produced in a manner protective of the environment and animal welfare. In 2017, more than 1 100 food products were submitted to official label and around 10 % of farms were organic. STERIGERM’S MOBILE DEVICES TO NEUTRALIZE MEDICAL INFECTIOUS WASTE DEPLOYED ON ALL CONTINENTS

Rejula ARUN - 15-janv.-2019 12:38:26

United Arab Emirates- January 15th 2019:   As part of the CHASTAGNER Group of companies, STERIGERMS manufactures mobile devices which neutralize medical infectious waste on-site (MIW), in a water-free, discharge-free process, requiring nothing more than a 220/230 volts functioning power outlet. Official and exclusive supplier to the French Navy, STERIGERMS devices can be found onboard most of its ships and notably on the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, the flagship of the French fleet. From January 28-31, 2019, it will be exhibiting for the 3rd consecutive year in the French Pavilion at Arab Health, with its 60-liter model. The ease of installation and treatment it offers has won over many countries, from the Gulf to India, not to mention both North and South America. STERIGERMS’ machines are already up and running, from Paris to Tahiti, from Algeria to the Philippines, in Russia, and in Brazil. Its consistent presence for 3 years in Dubai, at the largest trade show in Asia and the Middle East, gives STERIGERMS the opportunity to open new markets. During the NEUTRALISATION CYCLE, the hazardous waste put into the machine is subject to a temperature of 150°C and is also compacted due to a 12 tons pressure. The management robot guides the user, ensuring every possible means of protection: cover lock, thermal security, etc. Once neutralized, the treated waste can be evacuated, including via the household waste disposal system. The machine’s performance has been subject to official testing and is 2018 compliant with the NF – T 72-180 standard. EASY INSTALLATION AND LOCAL TREATMENT: a power outlet is all it takes. No water supply is needed. Just a plug delivering 220/230 volts. In addition, users are free to place the machines as it suits them best, thanks to their weight and wheel-mounted structure. The in situ waste processing removes both the risks due to excessively lengthy MIW handling, and the costs arising from multiple transportation. PROVEN CLEAN: no liquids or gases to discharge. No tubes to install. STERIGERMS keeps away any danger of pollution. Once the waste is compacted into pellets, the treated volume is divided by 10. STERIGERMS machines are used anywhere from research centers working on infectious diseases to hospitals, ships, submarines, offshore oil platforms, dialysis centers, or such places as retirement homes. From January 28-31, 2019, STERIGERMS will be exhibiting on booth n° Z2F02, France Pavilion at Arab Health – Dubai Z2F02 Company contact: STERIGERMS (Chastagner Group) 58, Bd Pierre LEFAUCHEUX - 72100 LE MANS - FRANCE www.sterigerms.com contact@sterigerms.com

Ethylene oxide sterilization: A tried and tested process and increasingly innovative machines

Rejula ARUN - 09-janv.-2019 11:29:49

United Arab Emirates, January 9, 2019 : Most polymer-based medical devices are not compatible either with the high temperatures required for steam sterilization (121°C / 134°C), which cause them to deform, or with gamma rays, which can cause plastics to stain or become cloudy. Ethylene oxide sterilization, however, is performed at temperatures typically between 40°C and 55°C, and is compatible with all MDs, irrespective of their type and composition. Ethylene oxide is therefore the ideal sterilization method for all MDs, provided that the strict standards governing its use (safety and toxicity) and its follow-up (EO residuals in the MD) are adhered to. SOLSTEO is a French company that manufactures industrial-type ethylene oxide sterilizers. SOLSTEO is a member of the technical committee that developed the ISO 11135 standard and provides its customers with experience and expert knowledge of the sterilization process. SOLSTEO’s success worldwide is partly due to an innovative software application: a plug & play version of its supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system CRISTALWARE 2.0., which can be adapted for existing machines. This new version is innovative in that it incorporates an equipment simulation tool, which means that the program can be 95% validated before the software is installed on an existing machine. Like a surgeon performing a transplant on an otherwise healthy heart patient, CRISTALWARE 2.0. gives equipment a second lease of life! Committed to protecting the environment, SOLSTEO supports green industry and offers innovative solutions to reduce the environmental footprint by integrating alternative natural energy sources (solar power) into the operation of its machines and air purification systems (scrubbers and catalytic burners). In 2017, the French medical devices market posted €28 billion, earned by more than 1,300 companies, of which 92% are SMEs. The industrial sector generates 85,000 jobs in France. France offers tremendous potential for innovation in the medical devices sector thanks to recognized industrial, scientific and medical expertise. The medical devices sector stands out for its three-pronged growth model: “reasoned innovation / internationalization / external growth”, with exports as the main driver, in light of the obstacles on the domestic market. In this respect, innovation remains of central importance to these companies. It is illustrated by a desire to develop solutions that integrate new functionalities, in particular developed from e-health technologies. With the support of Sanofi, FedEx and regional partners from France such as Bretagne Commerce International, DEV’UP, Lille Eurasanté and Medicalps, the French Pavilion will give center stage to the latest innovations at the 2019 edition of Arab Health. Their technical nature meets the expectations of the very demanding and rapidly-developing local market. Jean-Paul Scheuer, Country Chair & General Manager, Sanofi Gulf commented: “Delivering innovation in healthcare that will truly benefit patients and improve care is one of the main commitments at Sanofi.
