Spread over 600 square meters, the Ingredients pavilion will be located on Sheikh Saeed 1 and the Process & Packaging pavilion will be located on Za’abeel 3.  As the leading industrial sector in France, Food industry is the driving force of its economy with a turnover of 166 billion € (in 2018) including 21% generated when French companies are exporting.    For the first time at Gulfood Manufacturing and with the support of Brittany (West of France) and North of France regions, Business France will roll out an Innovation Tour Experience to highlight over 10 companies having a high innovation potential to share with local partners. With +35 thousand expected visitors, this three-day event is the biggest for the food processing and packaging industry in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The French Innovation Tour Experience will introduce as an example the French way of cooking arabic crepes or breads, or even how a French food specialist supports the nutritional challenge of sugar reduction and still offers tasty products.   Frederic Szabo, Managing Director Business France Middle East stated : « France is home to a thriving community of entrepreneurs, engineers, investors, and other talented people who are embracing the potential of technology to change the world. Hence when food and technology are combined, it is nurturing meaningful development in food making processes. And the Gulfood Manufacturing is an opportunity for French companies to emphasize their innovations both in ingredients and equipment ».    In 2018, more than 55 million euros of food processing equipment  have been imported in the Middle East (GCC, Egypt, Lebanon), including 77% in the GCC (the main categories of equipment are machinery for filling, closing, sealing and labelling bottles, cans, bags and other containers, machinery for the industrial preparation or manufacture of food and beverages).   French ingredients are also largely used in the region, especially in the bakery, dairies, confectionary industry and in food service.    While the United Arab Emirates imported +10% French dairy products in 2018 than the previous year, the French dairy products imported by the GCC in 2018 reached 1.4 billion euros, they reached a market share of 8.1% in KSA. France is also the 2nd supplier of butter in Saudi Arabia. We observe at the same time that imports of French cereals have yet grown significantly in the Middle East.   With consumer satisfaction at the forefront, the French expertise that will be showcased during the event is wide and specialised in:   Ingredients : Infant food, confectionary, dairies, bakery/pastry, cereal-based preparations, organic & fine food products, preservatives & flavourings, premix solutions.   Food-processing equipment : cooling system, food & beverage process engineering, labelling solutions, crepes machines, bakery & sweets, cutting machine, dairy equipment, production line expertise, packaging solutions, disposable tableware, sterilization and food tech solutions.   ABOUT BUSINESS FRANCE: Business France is the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, responsible for fostering export growth by French businesses, as well as promoting and facilitating international investment in France. CALL FOR APPLICATION: « GAMELAB » RETURNS FOR A SECOND EDITION IN COOPERATION WITH UBISOFT ABU DHABI AND THE FRENCH EMBASSY TO THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Sarah Benyoub - 09-oct.-2019 13:59:55

CALL FOR APPLICATION: « GAMELAB » RETURNS FOR A SECOND EDITION IN COOPERATION WITH UBISOFT ABU DHABI AND THE FRENCH EMBASSY TO THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES   A competition and a series of workshops to introduce Emirati (UAE – based) students to the creation of video games  9 October, 2019 – Abu Dhabi - Ubisoft Abu Dhabi and the French Embassy to the United Arab Emirates are set for a new edition of GameLab. Both parties have engaged in cooperating for the development of GameLab, a platform aiming at training students from UAE universities to develop their knowledge about the video game industry. Following a cooperation agreement signed in June 2018 and the success of the first edition, H.E. Ludovic Pouille, French Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Yannick Theler, Managing Director of Ubisoft studios in Abu Dhabi, have decided to renew their partnership for the coming academic year. During the first edition, four students from Zayed University won a six-month internship at Ubisoft Studios in Abu Dhabi. The laureates were nominated after having participated in three workshops organized throughout the academic year 2018-2019. They first workshop was held in November 2018, with a general introduction and brainstorming training by Matthew Laurence, Creative Manager at Ubisoft Abu Dhabi.   In January 2019, the second workshop tackled the question of intellectual property and copyright, in cooperation with the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and Gowling WLG.  The final workshop in April 2019, animated by Afif Khaled and Christophe Malcombe, both artists and comic/animation illustrator experts, helped the students materialize their very own original video game concept through drawings and storyboards.  All students were encouraged to team up and work on an original idea.  Among the awardees, Leen Albejawi declared “It is with great pleasure that I give this testimony to one of the most fun experiences I have partaken in. Gamelab is a great initiative that gave me a lot of knowledge in the area of game design. I came in to game-lab with my knowledge in animation, but not much knowledge in the area of game design. I think gamelab is a great introduction to the world of game design and game industry. At the end of the game lab experience I was given the opportunity to intern with UBISOFT which is a great opportunity which I would not have gotten if I wasn’t of a part of gamelab. Thank you to the French Embassy and Ubisoft for this project and I can’t wait to see more people benefitting from such experiences. if you are interested in gaining more knowledge in the area of game design and meet amazing people along the way, I recommend you join game lab because it will offer that and much more!” Moza Alsuwaidi, also a winner from Zayed University added “It was a great opportunity to experience and learn new things. As an animator who works on game design I really learn things that before I didn’t know which helped me in my senior project that I was working on at the time. The Gamelab organizers are really friendly, and I met really cool artists from France.”    The new edition of GameLab will encourage students to work with a “multidisciplinary team” in order to deliver a comprehensive final work during the pitching session. They will learn about the complete chain of professions within the video game industry. The call for application is open to all students from all fields. Students are invited to apply here:  https://forms.gle/KSPP3pciCpGzd8cx5   H.E. Ludovic Pouille, Ambassador of France to the United Arab Emirates, declared: “I am honored to co-conduct this initiative with Ubisoft Abu Dhabi and participate in ensuring effective links between the academic and professional world. As part of the French-Emirati cultural dialogue, the goal of this project is to strengthen cultural and educational cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, giving priority to the youth. The GameLab project is a transversal innovative project, bringing together several actors: Ubisoft, a globally recognized French company in the sector of video games that is firmly established in the United Arab Emirates, the cultural service of the Embassy (Institut français) which provides technical and institutional support, and the economic department of the Embassy, which brings its expertise on the creative industry ecosystem. The cultural and creative industries are an economic prospect for France and the UAE, at a time when our two countries are betting on artificial intelligence.” The French government is particularly active in supporting cultural and creative industries, including video games. In a recent interview, the French minister of culture, Mr. Franck Riester declared that video game is “an art like any other”. In France, the video game industry is a very active and creative sector. A lot of people work in this field: inventors, designers, engineers. We support them actively”.  Co-signing the renewal agreement, Yannick Theler, Managing Director of the Ubisoft studio in Abu Dhabi declared: “Ubisoft is delighted with this agreement which will present the techno-creative potential of the video game industry and the numerous career opportunities in this field. Through its international network of studios on every continent, Ubisoft collaborates with several universities to ensure that the talents of tomorrow have a good knowledge of the requirements of the industry. Partnerships like GameLab are a key opportunity for developing and consolidating the local video game ecosystem.”  The workshops scheduled in the frame of GameLab will take place throughout the academic year 2019-2020. The first session on the 18th of November 2019 will confront the students to the fundamental understanding of mobile games and invite them to express their creativity. The following workshops will be tailored according to the profiles of selected students. At the end of the academic year, the participants will be asked to present their projects. The winners of the competition will be rewarded with the opportunity of an internship at the Ubisoft studios in Abu Dhabi.   About the signatories of the agreement   Ubisoft is a leading creator, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment and services, with a rich portfolio of world-renowned brands, including Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Tom Clancy’s video game series, Rayman, Far Cry and Watch Dogs. Together with Airbus and Submer Technologies, 2CRSi has won a very high-performance server contract for a European anti-crime agency

Sarah Benyoub - 09-oct.-2019 10:20:19

Together with Airbus and Submer Technologies, 2CRSi has won a very high-performance server contract for a European anti-crime agency   United Arabe Emirates, October 7,2019 – 2CRSi announces that it has been chosen by AIRBUS to provide very high-performance calculation servers that will be used by a European anti-crime agency. This commercial success relates to the rollout of OCtoPus 1.8B servers for a total 3,744 CPU Intel ® Xeon ® cores and more than 7.45 million NVIDIA ® CUDA ® cores. These OCP (Open Compute Project) servers have been specially designed to function in immersion cooling tanks developed by SUBMER TECHNOLOGIES. The range of OCtoPus servers, launched by 2CRSi in 2017, provides a tangible response to the energy requirements of datacenters in order to meet their ecological challenges  with a reduction in the energy consumption of OCtoPus servers of more than 23% compared to equivalent servers fitted with traditional cooling systems. Under this AIRBUS project, the combination of 2CRSi servers and SUBMER TECHNOLOGIES cooling systems offers an even greater reduction in energy consumption through the elimination of air-conditioning: the servers are immersed in a dielectric cooling liquid which is itself cooled through a water circuit. 2CRSi and SUBMER TECHNOLOGIES have succeeded in making the difference as a result of the unique technical features of their submerges servers. Other decisive factors in the choice: the simplification and speed of the installation and fitting-out of the datacenter due to the integration of its products: with this solution, 3 months are sufficient to install the datacenter compared to 1½ to 2 years for a traditional datacenter. This technological achievement has been decisive in winning this contract. Moreover, long-term cost control was crucial for the future renewal of equipment: it will be possible to replace computer components (CPU and GPU cards, memory, etc.), where technological development, is very rapid. Feed and cooling modules will be retained. Overall and in addition to the relatively limited investment budget, the operating costs related to the servers installed at the end client will be reduced by more than 60%. An achievement that is both economic and ecological. With this contract, this customer should be one of the Group’s Top 5 customers in 2019. The order billing will take place before the end of the year. “We are proud to have been chosen by an international security player whose requirements in terms of performance and reliability are clear. Once again, we have succeeded in making the difference though our innovative and competitive solutions. I would like to congratulate our teams who are the heart of this new success, which further strenghtens our commercial visibility internationally." said Alai Wilmouth, Founder, Chairman and CEO. - END - About 2CRSi 2CRSi is based in Strasbourg and has subsidiaries in Manchester, Dubai and San Jose in the Silicon Valley. It specialises in the design and manufacturing of very high-performance IT servers. It provides innovative calculation, data storage and data transfer solutions to over 200 clients in 25 countries. Two-i is back at GITEX aiming to help cities in search of happiness

YASMINA OUARI - 19-sept.-2019 13:23:02

United Arab Emirates: September 19,2019- For the second year running, Two-i will attend Gitex 2019 to present its unique video analysis software, which is called the Map, aiming to improve happiness in the cities. This solution was inspired by the progressive sustainable development goals that Two-i shares with Dubai.  Live analysis of demographic data, such as emotions, age and gender, helps to guide decision-making and measure the impact of initiatives. Happiness is a complex condition that involves a range of variables that are far from just detecting smiles on the faces. The goal is to foster diversity and inclusion for all. It is a virtuous cycle that begins with raw material processing, data collection, the study of data that leads to decision-making, which then leads to the generation of new data, which leads to new decisions, etc. Two-i is among the pioneers in the development of the Map: an interactive cartographic platform that collects and displays all the metadata generated from live video streaming. It allows the user to navigate in his own city and visualize in real time the levels of well-being in the different neighborhoods. By displaying a large amount of important information in such condensed stats, the Map revolutionizes the way city management is perceived. In addition, it has been designed to comply with the constraints of data anonymization.  Two-i has a very creative team, which is cracking the challenges of integrating traffic and flow management solution and connecting external data into its already sophisticated platform in order to generate fully comprehensive Urban Data analytics. Moreover, Two-i’s Research team in collaboration with French hospitals has started medical trials for pain detection and analysis to reduce hospitalization time and increase the effectiveness of analgesic administration. This project allows the company to dig deeper into understanding the complexity of emotions. Two-i will be happy to meet you and to present its new innovative solution, during GITEX 2019, at Hall 4, on the French Tech Pavilion.
