DECITEX of France, which specializes in the development of intelligent and innovative textiles for use in professional cleaning, has announced a new contract with NHS Supply Chain. Following numerous introductions and tests in some of the largest NHS hospitals across Britain, it was DECITEX’s precise knowledge of this market that helped the company to secure the contract for the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).

For the second consecutive time, there will be a French Pavilion at the London Textile Fair on 23 and 24 January 2013. The Pavilion is organised by Tisslaine France Promotion, France’s national trade association for the textile industry, and is supported by the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in London. In January 2013, there will be 17 exhibitors on the French Pavilion, against 10 at the fair before.

"The autumn-winter [A/W] 2013/14 season has three principal colour groups: subtly coloured winter pastels, saturated dark colours and bright tones wakened by spots of colour. This season makes the link between the expression of contemporary fashion and the references to the past, with rich influences from Asia and Latin America," explains Anna Franquesa, Stylist at Tisslaine.
Anna Franquesa continues, "Amongst the strongest trends from the French textile producers are geometric patterns. These patterns create a feeling of depth by giving perspective to discreet shapes like houndstooth or small tie patterns that are reinterpreted using a feminine twist and ethnic inspirations, often resulting in the extravagant. The black-and-white duo makes its comeback and has been altered to create a sense of movement and a new appeal."
Tweeds and mottled/smudged designs are also at the forefront of the A/W 13/14 season’s collection, incorporating strokes of colour, thin yarns and thick fluffy yarn, creating a rich macramé effect. Often, these fabrics include metallic fibres, which make for a lavish Baroque-like piece.
Additionally, this season will use soft, supple materials that imitate suede and leather, such as Duchess Satin, along with brilliant Jacquards and brocades, as well as grained materials, including crêpes. Designs contain reptile and wildcat motifs, patchwork effects, and reshaped squares and stripes.
Britain is the sixth largest export market for the French textile sector (2011 figures), with exports of textile goods to the UK reaching €420 million (up by 2% in 2011 on 2010) : it is a very important market for the companies that Tisslaine assists in their export drive.

On 18 April 2012, the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in the UK will hold a French Fashion Day at Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel for well-established contract-clothing manufacturers from France. These companies are actively seeking to develop business links with British-based designers.

ETS THIERRY is a specialist in the design and production of jackets, coats, trench coats, and parkas. A model workshop with six staff is available for prototypes, collection repeats and press models. Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Céline and Balmain are clients of the company.
GETEX has a 60-strong team making ready-to-wear garments for men and women, including coats, jackets, raincoats, tracksuit tops, fleeces and city wear. The R&D department employs eight staff who take care of the patterns, the grading and the lay-out. GETEX is Gore-Tex®-certified. The company has worked for KENZO, Lacroix, Moncler and Chanel, among others.
GRANDIS specializes in the production of luxury women’s garments. A team of about 430 people is working with dedication to offer its expertise and meet all customers’ requirements. Five workshops manufacture suits and structured pieces, while another two specialize in soft wovens. The design studio, with 20 staff, deals with prototypes, patterns, gradations, technical files, etc. The pattern studio, with 25 staff, focuses on manufacturing prototypes, collection repeats, press models, and custom clothes. The purchasing/logistics department takes care of the supply chain — from purchase and control to storage. A secure warehouse (about 1,500 m² in size) is entirely dedicated to the reception, control and storage of all customers’ products, such as ready-to-wear, handbags and shoes.
MARTY benefits from over 40 years’ experience in the manufacturing of women’s clothing for couturiers and designers. The key to the company’s success is its ability to adapt. MARTY has various production units that specialize in blouses, trousers, skirts and suits. MARTY offers a complete and flexible service, which can be adjusted according to clients’ needs, from the initial concept to the final collection. The company is positioned halfway between craftsmanship and industry, offering modern techniques while respecting handmade production methods.
PR3 SAS has been operating successfully in the luxury-clothing industry for over 30 years. The company prides itself on being able to provide “original and pertinent solutions for small, medium-size and large production runs, including in the field of haute couture”. PR3 SAS works with stylists and fashion designers, including upcoming ones. Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Nina Ricci and A Alaïa, among others, are clients of the company.
Based in Western France, SCT has offered its know-how to major luxury fashion brands for 30 years. The company’s expertise in the manufacturing of ladies’ ready-to-wear is unanimously recognized for its very high standards in terms of quality, lead time and flexibility. SCT’s highly experienced team of 30 staff, who operate up-to-date equipment, is qualified to produce dresses and skirts as well as trousers or tops. SCT works equally with delicate woven fabrics (such as silk, veil or muslin) and with knitted ones (such as jersey and interlock). The company can produce prototypes and salesmen’s samples, as well as small and medium-size series.
SOCOVET has close to 40 years’ experience working with major French brands. The company assists with the design and development of collections for men and women, including pattern cutting, manufacturing prototypes and alterations, as well as production management, which covers manufacturing the first production prototype and cost studies. SOCOVET’s expertise covers the manufacturing of jackets and coats for men, as well as dresses, skirts and tops for women. The company works with a variety of materials such as wool, chiffon, crêpe, lace and fur.
