Oil and gas

Martin Joly - 19-janv.-2016 02:51:43
France is the second largest exporter of equipment and services for the oil and gas sector with no production on its territory « France doesn’t have significant O&G resources», says Agnès Hagyak,   Project Manager for Oil & Gas in the Paris head office of French export-support agency Business France, interviewed by Business France Radio. Despite this lack of resources, French companies have managed to do well in the industry, on both upstream (exploration, production) and downstream (refining) levels. France is even the second largest exporter in the world. The French industry can rely on major companies like Total, NG (natural gas) or Technip but also on many small and middle size companies (more than 500) covering many important services within this industry, like water treatment, telecommunications, software and security equipment. These companies’ goals are now to find more oil and gas clients around the world, find the right areas with interesting potential, and offer technologies adapted to new environmental and producing requirements. And among these targets are the countries of the Gulf. « In this part of the world, we have both upstream and downstream sectors, explains Agnès Hagyak. There are many things to do there.» As a matter of a fact, ADIPEC, the International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference held in Abu Dhabi in November is « a very good opportunity to find potential partners and direct clients, according to Agnès Hagyak. This show is also a way for the French to promote their services directly to customers. They must play their card well abroad. » ADIPEC, official website: https://www.adipec.com/ Companies exhibiting at ADIPEC: http://www.youbuyfrance.com/ae/companies.aspx?k=&z=&c=&ca=3&sca=72 http://www.youbuyfrance.com/ae/Events-3518-french-pavilion-at-adipec-2015-abu-dhabi Companies in the oil and gas industryare on youbuyfrance.com: http://www.youbuyfrance.com/ae/companies.aspx?k=&z=&c=&ca=3&sca=72

COP 21 - La Galerie des Solutions

Phutachart Chaiwatana - 09-déc.-2015 04:42:40
La Galerie des Solutions : A unique exhibition of low carbon solutions during COP21 From 2nd to 9th December in the Museum of Air and Space at Le Bourget, France   The Paris Climate Conference 2015 (COP21) this December is intended to result in an international climate agreement to succeed the Kyoto Protocol. This agreement must be capable of driving forward the reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions so as to restrict the rise in the Earth’s mean temperature by the end of the century to 2°C above the pre-industrial level. Against this background, Reed Expositions France has been working with the General Secretariat of COP21 to organize the Galerie des Solutions [Solutions Gallery] from 2nd to 9th December in the Museum of Air and Space at Le Bourget. Intended to support the diplomatic negotiations, the Gallery will be an exhibition of low carbon solutions exclusively reserved for professionals, and its mission will be to demonstrate that solutions do exist and to accelerate their market uptake. Occupying an area of 10,000 m2, running for seven days, and accessible from the Blue Zone (COP negotiations zone), the Galerie des Solutions [Solutions Gallery] will present innovative solutions developed and applied by companies, industries or territories that are designed to reduce the impact of economic activities on the climate: equipment, technologies, new models of organization and reproducible best practices… Over twenty countries will be represented including: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Japan, Morocco, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom,… More specifically, the Ivory Coast, one of the African countries most committed to climate questions, will have a strong presence through a stand presenting initiatives and projects in the country, a broadcast from the TV studio, and visits by numerous officials from the country. As host country, what France has to offer will take pride of place in a dedicated space at the heart of the exhibition. It is therefore planned to demonstrate solutions – including clean vehicles in a dedicated outdoor space – and to stage special events, such as themed days that are integrated into the schedule of COP21, broadcasts and interviews with companies in a TV studio (eg. daily transport programme with Fer de France), guided tours and site visits for UN delegations. Other highlights will be prestige events such as networking sessions in a dedicated lounge, business lunches, VIP receptions in the heart of Paris… It will also host the official awards ceremonies for two sets of awards. The first Climate Solutions Awards, which will carry the COP21 label. Organized by Orée, AdEME, C3D, Crédit Coopératif, Solutions COP21, the Shift Project and World Efficiency, these will provide recognition for innovative solutions put forward by French SMEs or major groups to reduce energy consumption, limit greenhouse gases and preserve resources. There will also be the ceremony for the international Green Building Solutions Awards, which will be presented for outstanding examples of sustainable construction (building, technical solutions or materials) undertaken in countries covered by Construction21 or in its partner countries. Over 20,000 professional visitors are expected: participants in COP21 (heads of state, ministers, UN delegations from 197 countries), professionals (private and public sector decision makers and specifiers, delegations invited by the organizers…) and representatives of the media (printed press, radio, television, blogs).   Official website : http://www.lagalerie-cop21.com/

Two companies to build a High Throughput Satellite system using dedicated broadband capacity on Spacecom AMOS-6 satellite           Paris, 5 October 2015  – Eutelsat Communications (NYSE Euronext Paris: ETL) and Facebook today announce they are partnering on a new initiative that will leverage satellite technologies to get more Africans online. Under a multi-year agreement with Spacecom, the two companies will utilise the entire broadband payload on the future AMOS-6 satellite and will build a dedicated system comprising satellite capacity, gateways and terminals. In providing reach to large parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, Eutelsat and Facebook will each be equipped to pursue their ambition to accelerate data connectivity for the many users deprived of the economic and social benefits of the Internet. Spot beams for community and Direct-to-User access Scheduled for start of service in the second half of 2016, the Ka-band payload on the AMOS-6 geostationary satellite is configured with high gain spot beams covering large parts of West, East and Southern Africa. The capacity is optimised for community and Direct-to-User Internet access using affordable, off-the-shelf customer equipment. According to the terms of the agreement, the capacity will be shared between Eutelsat and Facebook. State of the art satellite technology to meet pent-up demand Using state of the art satellite technology, Eutelsat and Facebook will each deploy Internet services designed to relieve pent-up demand for connectivity from the many users in Africa beyond range of fixed and mobile terrestrial networks. Satellite networks are well suited to economically connecting people in low to medium density population areas and the high throughput satellite architecture of AMOS-6 is expected to contribute to additional gains in cost efficiency. Eutelsat steps up Internet activity in Africa The capacity will enable Eutelsat to step up its broadband activity in Sub-Saharan Africa that was initiated using Ku-band satellites to serve professional users. Eutelsat is establishing a new company based in London that will steer its African broadband vision and business. The company will be led by Laurent Grimaldi, founder and former CEO of Tiscali International Network, and will focus on serving premium consumer and professional segments. Commenting on the agreement, Michel de Rosen, Eutelsat Chairman and CEO, said:  “We are excited by this opportunity to accelerate the deployment of our broadband strategy and to partner with Facebook on a new initiative to provide Internet access services in Africa. Eutelsat’s strong track record in operating High Throughput Satellite systems will ensure that we can deliver accessible and robust Internet solutions that get more users online and part of the Information Society.” Eutelsat sur youbuyfrance.com : http://www.youbuyfrance.com/french-exporters-directory/company-4916-eutelsat Eutelsat, website : http://www.eutelsat.com/en/home.html Source : http://news.eutelsat.com/pressreleases/eutelsat-and-facebook-to-partner-on-satellite-initiative-to-get-more-africans-online-1228638
