François Lurton represents the fifth generation of the Lurton wine family, wine producers since 1897. He was born in 1958, one of seven children and the eldest son of the renowned Bordeaux estate owner, André Lurton and was literally « baptised in wine » at Château Bonnet.
Lurton is one of the largest wine families in the world owning 27 estates amongst them mostly in Bordeaux (Château La Louvière, Château Bonnet, Château Climens, Château Desmirail, Château Brane-Cantenac….).
In 1988 François Lurton set up his own business firstly with his brother Jacques but in 2007 he became the sole majority shareholder of the company. Although a man of many passions, his main interest and priority is to make fine wines that reflect their unique terroir.
François Lurton is the owner of wineries and vineyards in 4 countries : France (Languedoc-Roussillon), Spain, Chile and Argentina where he produces fine wines.
