WORLD PREMIERE: connected grandstands for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy
Aware of the fact that digital is a key factor of visitor experience’s improvement, the Organization Committee of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy entrusted French company Advertiseat with the mission of dressing grandstands with connected seat covers, an unseen digital means of communication.
Paris, June 2014 – This summer, France will host the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy. It’s the biggest equestrian event in the world, right in front of the Olympic Games. For this event, Advertiseat, a French start-up specializing in custom-made grandstand seat covers for big events, is going to cover d’Ornano Stadium’s seats with their connected and customisable covers for the first time in the world.
Using NFC mobile technology (and/or QR Code), Advertiseat© takes advantage of the closeness of this covering - copyrighted concept - to offer sponsors, partners and events organizers an attractive and interactive media. Seat covers used to serve the sole purpose of embellishing seats. Nowadays, while still fulfilling this aesthetic purpose, covers become a brand-new channel to make the spectator’s live experience an exclusive moment, thanks to their smartphone. The seat covers give sponsors the opportunity to feature any kind of digital content while providing a new source of income for organizers.
Between the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, spectators’ use of smartphones increased by 456%. It’s a phenomenon which tends to amplify gradually with the « 2.0 » stadium renovations. Following the connected objects trend, Advertiseat invented one of the first innovating viable solution. For these reasons, Advertiseat is very proud to present its service during this prestigious event, which expects to welcome more than 75 nations and about 500,000 visitors in Normandy.
